Shim_kattty
Since I began the "weeding out" process I feel a lot better. I was able to eat for once & actually enjoy my meal & not be stressed about someone calling or texting me just for favors. I didn't realize how much it was impacting my physical health & I know this is only the beginning but I really feel like this is the right path to take. These people (one person in particular) are poisonous & though I do find Joy in giving to others, I do not find joy in being used & manipulated especially when it is blatant that you have no intentions on genuinely being my friend. I will continue to choose my association wisely & not give so much of myself away to just be used like that. I want to be available & approachable because I'm always willing to help, but I just need to limit how often I offer my assistance. This is only week one & I can feel the progress already.

Author Shim_kattty
It sounds like you actually get calls for favors everyday for you to be so affected? Yes basically everyday. & some of them even ask me to take them to the movies or something with a group of our friends which they didn't invite me to go with. Not only that but I'll take them one place & then they fail to explain that I'm actually doing favors for one of their friends. I didn't mind at first, but after a while it has started to affect me mentally & make me question my self worth. Everyone talks to me when they have a problem I am very easy to talk to but if they're not going through anything, I can forget them even contacting me. I asked one of them what was my purpose in their lives & they said you're my backbone. You're the person I know is always gonna be there. Well they were wrong because I'm evicting them from my life. It sounded like a load of crap & if I labeled someone my backbone I would surely be treating them a hell of a lot better than they treat me.
th90
Your friends are definitely very inconsiderate, insensitive and harsh. I've had one friend who is such. I was like her backup for everything. She would use my books, tissues, drink my water, you name it. It was in high school though so I'm glad I'm not seeing her anymore. Have they ever done anything nice for you? Like a birthday surprise? Giving you gifts? Or at least saying thank you?
