During dating or attempts to date, do women with short but feminine hair (e.g. a bob) by default lose out to their peers in long hair?

How many men gravitate toward women in short hair?

Unless it's really weird, we're generally not looking at your hair.

I know LOTS of really beautiful women with short hair.

No kidding! Then I'm seriously ugly. :o

Only women tell me how they wish to have my hair and how good looking I'm. But it seems that men don't quite think so.

I don't even know what's wrong.

It is always about individuals sweetie. Men would go mad over a hot bald girl. Here is an example of a bald girl that all men want.

And it is not just men. A guy with no friends that look at a woman will only be a creepy creeper if he is ugly. If he is tall and handsome he is mysterious. Life is unfair.

It depends on the size of your face/head.

I think more often than not, the right girls wear short hair. Look at Halle Berry. I caught her tonight at the Golden Globes, man. She's still got it.

Of course you get a few girls who definitely don't have the face for it wearing short hair but I've found that that's rare.

I've seen some girls rock the sh*t out of short hair. They have small, symmetrical faces, perfect skin (if you don't have great skin I'd advise sticking with longer hair to hide blemishes) and big eyes. They look like dolls. Very delicate and feminine looking.

I prefer long hair, but if a woman wears short hair the right way, it can be just as hot, and definitely just as feminine.

I actually can't take long hair, as weird as it sounds.

My friends think I look good in short hair but it doesn't show in my dating life. Guys always go to my friends with long hair. That's how I get that long hair is the key.

Have you grown your hair long before? Maybe you look good in short hair but even better with long?

I won't sit here and say hairstyle doesn't play a part. It definitely does. All men have prefences when it comes to hairstyle and we know how much time and money women invest in taking care of their hair. The right hairstyle can do wonders for a woman.

I guess I don't fall into the same group of men you've been running into, because to me, hot is hot, if you can pull it off, I'll dig you no matter what. I judge face first, before anything. If I'm attracted to your face, I'll naturally be attracted to your hair, however you wear it.

I've tried growing out my hair. Even my hair stylist said I should stick to short hair.

I can pull off short hair better than many others but I guess I can't say I'm hot. At least kids don't scream their heads off looking at me. :D

No a woman with short hair won't always lose to one with long hair but, I've known plenty of guys who don't like short hair on girls, never met one who doesn't like long hair on them.

Ah, now I see what your problem is. You wont settle for a man your friends wouldn't settle for. It's that old 80/20 rule. 20% of men date 80% of the women. Those 20% of men are tall, 6 feet or taller. That is not normal for men. It is tall. But it is normal among men that women date.

It kind of reminds me of the height thing for men. Very few women are actively looking to date short men, but if they like him, most will, since most women aren't shallow enough to not date a man because of his height.

Most men are probably not out there actively searching to date short haired women, but I believe most men, if they found the girl facially attractive, wouldn't care how she wore her hair. I don't think they would avoid dating her because her hair wasn't long enough.

Some men like short hair. Some men like smaller breasts.

It's like how most women might prefer tall dark and handsome men. And how other women prefer tall blond and blue eyed men.

There you go. :(

What do you mean? What has it got to do with men my friends would or wouldn't settle for? Please read the OP carefully.

However it appears that women with long hair and guys that are tall get the advantage?

here's a clear vote for short hair (and small breasts, but that's not the topic here). My 4 gf's/wife all wore their hair short at some point, 3 of them when I pursued them. It's different from the masses with long hair, it shows character, I like it :-)

I'm a woman, but in the world I live in (designers, artists etc) most men think women with shorter, edgy haircuts are super sexy.

I think preppy men are more into Barbie like long hair. As I'm not into preppy men or that kind of culture, I'm happy with having shoulder length hair.

I also think long hair looks a bit pathetic on women over 30. It suits teenagers better.

I don't think it makes much of difference. I had a straight bob for years, made no difference at all.

These women are absolutely pathetic...

Women Over 40 Should Not Wear Long Hairstyles

NOT!

Hollywood is another ball game. You can look great with 24/7 hairdressers and makeup artists even if you're bald. Im talking about real life people.

As a very long-haired woman over 40 in a city full of very long-haired women over 40, I'm afraid I'm inclined to disagree rather strongly with that statement. What is appropriate has more to do with the rest of a person's features and lifestyle than their age. There are lots of lovely styles of all lengths for women of all ages. Each person has to figure out what suits them best for their own individual place in life. A bob may look lovely on a young woman but matronly and haggard on an older woman, just as long hair on a young woman may look scraggly and unkempt while a lovely, healthy long mane may look pretty on an older one. JMHO.

For whatever it's worth the writer of that article also had lovely long tresses, and is over 40.

Hey I think you look great in your picture and it suits you a lot. So it's a case by case thing. But in general I don't like longer hair after 25 and am also not into the typical CA style where lots of women, mainly in LA, work so hard to look like blond Barbies... but as you said it's a matter of preference. And who cares what I think, a girl should know is what their type of men like ;) The type of men I'm into is not into long hair Barbie types, that I know for sure.

I did answer your OP. It is individual. Short or long hair all depends on the woman. Like how handsome loners are mysterious. And ugly loners are creepers.

I then expanded on your issue after I got more info about your problem. And it turns ot you're just another woman wanting the top 20% of the men. The tall men that aren't bald.

It's practically a marriage ender if an already overweight woman, who once had nice, flowing long hair, chops it off and comes home hoping for kind of compliment, but she keeps reminding him of the forklift operator at the warehouse he works at.

I think the key to short hair is a pretty face and neck. If they are pretty no one cares about your hair.

I tried telling her she wont listen. It is all about looks. She wont accept it.

creepy man=Ugly man

All men are jerks=No handsome man want to marry me.
