Anela
Does anyone here have experience with this herb? I tried it a couple of years ago, but ran out and have only just ordered more. I remember being a bit jittery, even into the late night (after taking it in the morning), but I think it was helping me to look forward to things, rather than feeling as though I have no future. At the moment, I'm making sure that I get coconut oil most days (at least three teaspoons), and take sublingual vitamin B-12.
tman666
I don't have any experience with this herb... Are you a regular coffee/tea drinker? I've seen a few studies that suggest that regular coffee drinkers have a lowered risk of depression. Another thing that I do is take 4,000 IU of vitamin D3 per day in the winter months. It helps my moods and outlook immensely. One things for sure though: winter sucks for those who battle the blues. It's interesting that people seem to take better care of themselves in the sunny months. With more outdoor activities, less clothing, etc., it makes sense that this would be the case, but it makes me wonder if more attention should be paid to personal health during the winter months. Sorry for not addressing your question directly, but I figured I'd share my thoughts.
Author Anela
Thanks, tman. I drink tea - I don't like coffee. I need to take liquid supplements, because I can't swallow capsules, but I'll see if I can find liquid for Vitamin D. I've been trying to get outside for a bit, even when it's cold. I think it's partly hormonal, partly things going on at home - I'm using flower essences and trying to find something to look forward to - trying to get something going, but I'm just treading water, and it seems like things just get worse - it's just my life. The one thing keeping me going right now, is the thought of my garden, in the Spring. I was thinking about moving in with a friend, in Florida, but I feel too messed up for that at the moment, and don't have any sort of job secured, so I'd be afraid of being a burden on her, as well - that isn't going to happen. tman666
Hey, maybe you're not ready to pick up and move to FL, but there's no harm visiting, right? Maybe it'll help you clarify your outlook on things. I'll be down there in February, and I'm sure as hell looking forward to it (and getting out the cold)!
Author Anela
Day two of Rhodiola, and it appears to be helping me to keep my cool, at least when it comes to a certain sister. Not exactly feeling excited about life, but this is a good start. I googled "rhodiola" and "cortisol" and what I'm reading makes me wish I'd stuck with it two years ago: 4 Ways Rhodiola Could Change Your Life - I kept meaning to get back to it.
