I don't have crushes anymore :(

Recommended Posts

i stumbled across this by chance..it is my life so far in a nutshell.I always want men who arent fully available to me..its older men too usually.

i pine after them and then get heartbroken eventuually.Thats my issue..im starting to get sick of it

I am 26. I have a wonderful father who has been around and never left.Always provided well;ALways shown affection;

so its not a daddy thing and i loathe when people assume that it is.We have a happy family, mum, dad my brother and i..

the only thing i can think of is i am very guarded, have a hard time trusting people because in the end all people (except my family) have let me down at some point.id rather be alone and have safe crushes, than put my feelings out there to someone i could be with and become vulnerable only to get hurt.

all guys i have met are idiots

Most of my life, from 14-31, I have spent having a crush on some guy or another that wasn't fully available to me. I would pine and think about him all the time.

In the past year, since my LTR ended - I haven't been able to develop a proper crush on anyone. I really liked 2 guys - few weeks each. When it was obvious that nothing was going to work out with them, I lost interest completely (even though I slept with one of them, still didn't get attached).

I kind of miss the innocence of the youth, when I was having butterflies over someone all the time.

Everything just feels really meh now :(

I think this is a good thing!

I think it can be hurtful and a bit unhealthy to constantly be pining after unavailable people or wasting time trying to make a crush/relationship work with someone you have no business dating.

It's a lot easier road IMO to have the maturity to realize when something isn't worth your time/doesn't make sense and you detach easily and can move on. Saves you lots of headache and heartache if you only invest emotions into viable options.

Crushes are fun...but as you get older I think it's more rewarding when you only get serious butterflies from people with legitimate potential and not just any and every cute face/nice personality. It's just a part of growing up and maturing and being at a different life stage.

Charlie Harper

I love getting the jibby jibbies (SP?) when seeing someone, I really love my friends and even though I dont love or I an IN love with them they make me feel things I guess it has to do with letting go.

Now if you love somebody and have been hurt before badly, you get very defensive and of course experience makes you better at seeing red flags and cracks in other people character.

So its natural to be more difficult with age to feel weird things, to get crushes and of course falling in love like an idiot.

But falling in love like an idiot is WONDERFUL too bad most of the time its infatuation or just codependency but BOY ITS INCREDIBLE.

Please see all this video is incredible it brings tears to my eyes because it makes me remember that all of us who have been stupidly in love have had or "lisa"

Ummm? Yeah....I could only stand about thirty seconds of that video before getting this odd feeling that I wanted to kill myself. Thankfully I found the strength to turn it off. Now I'll spend the next day or two feeling like shyt for eating cows. I like cows, but unfortunately I love beef. Dam you Charlie Harper. Oh btw, that video sucks. Did it really make you cry. God, another minute of it and I'd swear I was going..... Think before you post.

Yeah, have been losing that "magic" feeling as well. I chalk that up to maturity (and added confidence) as some have mentioned. Or, perhaps a subconscious wall that keeps me braced for disappointment or hurt. Not certain...
