I didn't think this was a big deal before but now I'm starting to get worried. I'm going to turn 17 on May and still haven't gotten my period.

No, I never had sex (never even had a bf nor gone out on a date) and I eat healthy. All of my friends have long started their period but not me. What could possibly be going on with me?

Could this mean I won't ever have a child since I haven't started my period yet?

Something similar happened to my paternal grandmother. I heard she got it at age 18. Weird.

If women or girls in your family tend to have their period late, you could probably be having it late as well.

Your condition is known as primary amenorrhea. There are many causes behind it you may want to look up on the internet.

If you have already started to develop secondary sexual characteristics, eg : enlargement of breasts, growth of pubic and axillary hairs, growing in general, then you are likely to have your period soon. If these characteristics are absent until now, then you should seek medical help. Some people may have imperforated hymen where you do get your period but it doesnt come out from your vagina as the flow is blocked by your hymen. You will experience cramps though in this case.

Anyway it's best for you to consult a gynaecologist if you are yet to attain menarche at this age.
