Leigh 87
What is your unfit, natural weight, and what is your "fit and healthy" weight? And which one do you think is more "natural" I have discovered that I have a weight where I stabilize at when I: - over eat a bit, eat junk food and have no special diet, and do not work out. OR - the weight I am when simply go for runs 5 days a week and do resistance work twice a week, and eat healthy 80% of the time. ....I over ate majorly over Christmas, I had over eaten and not worked out for months and months, I WAS SURE I had gained weight: no. I was 60 kilos. I was SHOCKED. I over ate to the point of feeling full on several occassions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over the space of MONTHS. Yet was only 60 kilos. I was thrilled:D:D:D:D:D I tend to have a " not trying" weight, and "thin" weight (when I eat healthily and work out moderately) I have no idea what my fit and healty weight will be, as I have only ever been unhealthily thin through trying TOO hard, or been lazy and not worked out at all or eaten healthily. ......i cannot afford a gym membership, so I think that simply jogging 5 days a week, and doing a pilates DDV for 2o mins 5 days a week, will be ENOUGH to keep me in the shape I enjoy being in:)
AlexDP
My weight doesn't fluctuate at all. Sometimes it can even get quite frustrating, because usually I'm trying to gain a couple of pounds and it just won't happen.
Emilia
My body fat % goes up slightly when I cut back on exercise if I don't cut back on carbs too at the same time. I notice it quickly though so it doesn't really translate to weight gain. I gained about 6-8 lbs through bone and muscle density gradually last year when I started strength training - ie I'm the same size as before but heavier. That probably won't really happen much more though so not expecting much weight fluctuation from now on.
FitChick
Five pounds is the amount I gain and lose and gain and lose for many years now. Now trying to lose it after the holidays. Have to wait until the Valentine's Day candy goes on sale and then I can get serious about it. I am such a sugar junkie.
Author Leigh 87
Yeah fit chick, I do not think my lazy weight and fit weight will vary too much. I think 5 lbs lbs is all I will end up losing if I go for light runs daily with weekends off if I want, coupled with eating 80 % healthy. I mean I am not exactly huge (BM I of 22) for a women who does not work out and eats whay she wants and is not at all healthy) I do no think I want to bother with hardcore, painfull sessios of exercise. I tend to get my ideal body doing the things I enjoy rather than have to really knuckle down and eat low carb and avoid the things that I love.
Eclypse
When I'm hiking, playing basketball, swimming a lot it's around 86 or 87. Less than that on my body type I think would be unhealthy and malnourished. Unfit weight is around 90-93. Currently I'm just under 88 and unfit
nerd
I like to eat, so I can put the pounds on rather easily if I either don't work out or let myself eat as much as I want. It looks like about a 10 pound range between my lazy weight vs my fit weight... I'm currently on the wrong end of that range, and am trying to remedy that.
Keenly
If I get lazy and I eat and do nothing physical for 6 months, I'll weight 210. If I go to the gym and take it seriously, I'll weigh 195. I can't seem to get past either of these two numbers.
Mr Scorpio
When I was exercising six days a week and mildly restricting my diet, I weighed anywhere in the 155-162 range. A few years of less exercise and more chicken parmesean and pizza left me at 188. I'm about to head to the gym as I type this.
FitChick
I mean I am not exactly huge (BM I of 22) for a women who does not work out and eats whay she wants and is not at all healthy) BMI is irrelevant to how you look. Take your measurements.
Queenie42
I've always been pretty lazy. I used to use my asthma as an excuse to get out of PE, and as an adult now every time I get even a little out of breath I'm like, "OK stop now before I die." It's a mind over matter thing I'm trying to get over because... Since I was about 16 I'd hover around 60kg, which was fine, but last year I leaped up to 73kg, which is not fine. I mean, it's only on the cusp of being overweight, but it's not where I want to be. Especially with all the bad habits I've picked up lately, I wanna reverse this before I gain any more. Joined a program along with a bunch of other folks who were easily twice my size, and they all looked at me sideways as if to say "What does this skinny bitch want?"
Els
Ironically it seems to not make much difference to me. My body seems to be happy at 120-125 lbs and not going anywhere. If I overindulge for a while, it goes up 5 lbs or so, but drops back to that range easily within a couple of weeks. If I do a lot of working out (think a few-day long hiking trip) or dieting, it drops to 115 lbs or so, but I can't sustain all of that (or don't want to, food is my joie de vivre and I'm not surviving on salads and soups all my life!) so it goes back up to that range again. I have decided to be happy and accept that range as my 'fit' weight.
Million.to.1
Up until the time I was 24 (from say 16yrs) i sat at 54kg (119) regardless of what i ate, whether i exercised or not. I dropped as low as 47kgs (103) once after my first big break-up at 22, and couldn't face food for weeks. Bounced back to 54ish after the appetite returned. Then i kinda jumped up to 60 after a stint overseas, and have since hovered around that. I would say that my Lazy weight now at 33 is 62kg (136) and my fit weight is 57kg (125) ... I'm most comfortable/confident 58-60. Any smaller than that, people seem to worry about me for some reason.... so i gather i must look a bit to skinny for my frame. Leigh, one thing you will find is that as you get older, is the body doesn't stay firm like when you are young.. you can weigh whatever, but you'll always more... "flooby" or wobbly, bumpy.. whatever, if you aren't fit. It sucks.
stevie_23
I'm 34, and from the age of 12 up until 27 I ate SOO much junk food snacks (as well as healthy main meals). I've always been slim, with a fast metabolism and up until age 27, despite eating McDonalds up to twice a day, everyday, and a bunch of chocolate products, I was always at a stable weight of around 120lbs (I'm 5'7"). Then I quit smoking and kept eating the same, and my weight shot up to 143lbs in 6 months. I noticed I didn't quite look as trim as I had, so went on the first diet of my life. Lost the weight in another 6 months. Nowadays, I tend to be my "fit" weight (when I do my toning exercises, walk to work and back everyday and eat low fat and healthy foods) for the majority of the year, and I normally weigh about 120lbs. At Christmas and 2 other times during the year, I let myself go into "indulgence mode" and my lazy weight becomes about 127lbs. However, lately my weight has gone way down because of my recent relationship breakup. I went from struggling (slightly) to get down from 127lbs to 120lbs again, to dropping down to 108lbs due to having no appetite and a heap of nervous energy and anxiety. Right now, I've been eating a LOT of junk food so I SHOULD be at my lazy weight but I'm still only at 112lbs.
xxoo
My fit weight is between 105-110#. In my adult life, I've fluctuated between 100-120, outside of pregnancy.
Love Bytes
I fluctuate all the time. Beginning of December, I was 173...lookin' chubby, now I'm back down to 155, and the abs are showing. Just the way I've always been. I let myself go until something happens or I just get sick of looking at myself, and kick back into shape.
