Forever Learning
Hi! I am looking for a high fiber cereal to replace my All Bran. I don't think All Bran is gluten free or wheat free. I am looking for something that is high fiber, yet gluten and wheat free. I am reading "Wheat Belly" and trying to cut out wheat and gluten from my diet, to reduce fatigue I've had. Thanks! p.s. what are other good sources of fiber besides prunes? Cereal is quick and easy. I shall miss my All Bran.
tman666
Whole, raw oats are gluten free and pretty high in fiber. Some other high fiber, gluten free foods: -Sweet potatoes -squash/pumpkins -leafy greens such as kale, spinach, chard, celery, etc. -bananas/plantains -chili peppers -broccoli -flax

tman666
I'm glad that I could help! The list above obviously a very short one, and I'm sure you can find much more comprehensive lists on other sites, especially those geared towards helping those with Celiacs. I hope you find an answer to reducing your fatigue! Don't lose hope. Even if going gluten free ends up not being the answer (not saying it couldn't be), I bet that eventually you'll find something that works for you.

Oh yes, I am just in the beginning of my journey to reduce fatigue, and so far, so good. I believe it's not only gluten that is suspect, but the wheat itself. I can't tell you how good I have felt this week, in comparison to the last few years, since dropping the wheat, dairy, sugar, and coffee. Miraculous. Especially the peaceful feeling, and the brain fog subsiding. AMAZING! Trying to move into a very healthy way of eating has been tricky, but I won't give up. I have too much riding on it, I don't seem to have a choice. Besides, I am enjoying it. I love learning new things, including what I am learning now, about wheat, dairy, sugar, blood sugar, etc etc. Thanks again tman666. I really enjoy your input here and am so thankful for the guidance you give everyone here. You know ALOT, and I learn so much. God bless!
FitChick
since dropping the wheat, dairy, sugar, and coffee. It might be that only one or two of the above is the real culprit. I read that after 90 days of eliminating a food, you can start adding it back into your diet. Then gauge how you feel. If you immediately feel bad, then you know to totally drop it. Then try the next one. My guess would be sugar is the worst of the bunch and the others you might be able to have in moderation. Only time will tell.
