I'm not going to claim diet sodas are good for you, but I don't believe they inhibit weight loss.

 

I lost 160 lbs. My diet included diet sodas (one or two a day) and many low-fat item replacements (like low-fat mayo).

 

No issues at all losing weight.

 

My suggestion? Try it. Do whatever works for you. NOTHING in moderation is going to be a deal-breaker to your weightloss efforts.
