Why did he do this? Opinions please!

Recommended Posts

my boyfriend and i broke up 2 months ago. i asked him to go to a wedding with me and a week ago he told me yes but tonight he called me and told me he couldn't. when i asked him why he didn't really say anything so i said "do you just not want to go?" he says "yes kinda" and that he would feel uncomfortable. i don't get it! a week ago he was saying he was definetly going with me and now he's changed his mind. what gives?

Why would you want your ex to go to a wedding with you? I'm confused....this doesn't seem like an event you would want to share with an ex....

He thought about it.

You want him back? Don't force the issue.

at one point i did want him back but not anymore. i definetly feel we're better off as friends and that's why i asked him. i mean we've been broken up for 2 months now and i'm definetly over our past relationship. i asked him to go purely as a friend. we have mutual friends attending this wedding and i thought it would be fun for him to come along. that's honestly the only reason i asked. he said he just didn't feel comfortable going, which i respect, and needs more time(whatever this means?).

How long did you date? I would say that rarely am I COMPLETELY over someone after only 2 months, to the point where I would want to be at a wedding with them as my date, even as just friends....especially a wedding, it's such an emotional/intimate experience...Oh well, we are all different...it's good you are friends if you are comfortable being so and it doesn't cause one of you pain (i.e. someone is still trying to get over feelings, and the other person wants to be friends)..find a cute boy and take him and that way your ex can see that you are over him and that he can truly be friends with you and not feel uncomfortable! :)
