Banged my wrist hard yesterday and it's feeling weak and aches?

Recommended Posts

I was going through a swing door very quickly yesterday but there was an obstruction on the other side which I didn't see so the door banged very hard against the back of my hand and wrist as I was pushing it open.

I don't think anything is broken because I can move it, but there is a lot of weakness in my wrist today and it is aching. I've been applying ice since yesterday. How long will it take for it to heal?

Thanks.

6 days, 2 hours and 37 minutes.

HOW THE HELL SHOULD WE KNOW - ?!

Go to the hospital, get it checked. You could have a hairline fracture or have chipped a bone....

Really, asking questions like this on a relationships discussion forum is just not best policy.

Honest, Sweeetie, it's your body - take care of it!

If this was just a relationship discussion forum honey, there wouldn't be a message board titled 'Physical fitness, health and weight management". Perhaps someone's gotta get their eyes tested. Else you'll be starting threads about your little love life in the wrong place which would be kinda awkward don't you think?

. How long will it take for it to heal?

.....is about as easy to answer about your wrist, as it is about your heart.

As long as it takes.

Is that a better answer for you?

Healing wrist= Bone cell mitosis.

Healing heart= Emotions.

There is a big difference honey.

Ok.

How long, precisely, does a wrist take to heal?

How long, precisely, does a heart take to heal?

Not a big difference at all.

It's impossible to say, everyone is different.

Asking such a specific question, requiring a precise answer is not something logical for a discussion forum.

You need to see a professional, a doctor and maybe get an x-ray.

THAT - was my point.

A heart can take 2 years.

A broken wrist typically takes between 6-8 weeks. But mine is not broken.

My doctor is very busy and on average can make an appointment 2 weeks after a patient calls. That is why I came on here, and that is probably the reason there is a message board like this, for people in the same boat. It's not the most appropriate thing to give a hostile response when someone is just seeking advice, as you did in the first post. If there is a place for that, it's not LoveShack.

Are you still capable of moving your wrist?

Of course you are. Put ice on it. At worst: fracture. Sometimes, a cyst forms. (I've actually seen a cyst form on the nerve of the wrist; but from someone lifting, not hitting.)

Eitherway, if the pain persists for much longer: go get it tested. But put ice on it.

Last: what is your pain? On a scale of 1-10?

Hostile?

Believe me that wasn't hostile.

you ain't seen me hostile.

You don't WANT to see me hostile.... :p:D

I think it was an illogical question to ask, that's all..

The wording just tickled me.........

Thanks for the tip. Yes I can move it as normal, there's just a dull ache when I'm using it. Luckily it is my left wrist and I am right-handed. On the scale of 1-10 my pain is 2 when I'm not moving my wrist and 5 when I am. It's not swollen and doesn't seem very serious, that's why I didn't go to Emergency.

You'll be fine then. Just try and keep your wrist stable. Ice, in a pack of piece of cloth can help; never directly apply ice. Try to keep your wrist straight: monitor pain levels, for 24 hours, see if it depletes any. If not, wait six more hours. If not, schedule a visit to have it tested.

Try and not use your wrist as much(probably sprang)

You may have hit on an acupuncture point. I guess it will take a week or more so to heal.

No doctor but according to Chinese medical studies our body have many acupuncture points. One obvious one is near your inner elbow. When you got hit on there, you arm feel sore and useless.

Please seek the advice of your Doctor if you feel that your injury needs it, seeking medical advice for an injury on an internet forum isn't recommended.

Thanks
