Almost a week after breakup, I get this text

"What frustrates me the most is that I want you. I fantasize about sex with you, about a life with you, about a future with you. But it's so tainted and messed up. And I want to see you. And then sometimes I really don't because I'm scared, weirded out, uncomfortable. I just feel so conflicted."

That was a couple of days before Valentine's Day. I pretty much agreed with her, to which I got back a ":)" the next day. Then I texted her on Valentine's Day:

"Thinking about you today and feeling lucky."

And I called her and left a voicemail, inviting her to make up and have some fun. No response, and now it's Sunday night, three days after Valentine's.

Breakup history: We broke up a week ago Wednesday, and while we continued texting, by that Saturday she was telling me she didn't want to lead me on and the passion and enthusiasm was gone. Then, three days later, I get the text I sent above.

Now I haven't said a word since the voicemail I left her on Valentine's Day. It's been a tough ride, but I"m getting stronger. I also should mentioned that we've dated last summer then took time off in the fall, then saw each other again and the feelings were there, then took some time off and we started up again in January, and since then it was red hot between us. We were saying "I love you" and everything.

What do people think of my chances?

You fell victim of a 'breadcrumb' . She prob missed you at the time and sent you the message. You contacting you back only boosted her ego and made her feel better about the original decision she made -which was to break up.

You shouldn't give in when she throws you a breadcrumb. It only shows that she's in full control of you and the situation. She could be messing around with some other dude and only come back to you when things aren't going well on the other side.

Also the fact that you have gone back to her before and didn't work out and then get back together again it's not healthy. Yes, it's nice to get back with someone you have feelings with but she's clearly telling you otherwise.

Try not to give in your feelings and stupid breadcrumbs she throws at you. Some of us have had our ex's go as far as drive by the house and call restricted. Find another girl you can date and spend time with. Sooner or later she'll miss you and throw a breadcrumb again.
