Sexy Christian lady! ;)

For women, I think it is a matter of conscience. I definitely do not support everyone wearing burkah's :p And I do not support men blaming women for their weaknesses (to me women's immodesty is an issue of their heart they need to work out; but also should consider 1 Cor. 8, to not become a stumbling block to the weak). I do think modesty should be taught more for their benefit, and to support their brothers, but also men need to be taught their end too. For me, I do not rely on anyone's conscience. I have just trained myself to "bounce" my eyes. It is a method discussed in the book. Basically the author was a major player in college, came to the Lord, and decided he was not going to be mastered by his flesh any longer. Good book for teen guys. He talked about this girl that ran everyday in sports bra and tight spandex type shorts, and he would stare at her as he drove by. With this technique, he basically would bounce his eyes away as soon as he noticed her (Job 31:1). Sounds silly, but it works. He would use this technique for any attractive woman, and overtime he only needed it when he saw a woman that dressed immodestly. He basically "de-conditioned" his mind to not be so sex-focused. I think that is really the key for men, rather than to just say "oh I can't help it b/c of women's dress". :p

I have my issues with porn as your entire post mentions. One being, why is it acceptable per se for the nonChristian, but the Christian man is all of a sudden a demon:rolleyes:

I want to add to this. Staring at another woman when one is with their woman is THE MOST rudest thing in the world IMO. I've had this happen to me a lot. I should have walked away from those relationships the very moment this started. It happens a lot.

End of rant:D

Modesty for Men | Guys on Modesty

Modesty for women is one topic. The survey that was posted showed how much emphasis is placed on the visual image of a woman, in relation to sexuality.

But I think male modesty is something entirely different. I think something could be said about the fact that women probably aren't spurred by the male physique in exactly the same way that men are by women. But as the article pointed out, men are still called to be modest.

How is male modesty defined though? I imagine that guys' actions play a lot into it, at least for me. I loved the way the article brought up the importance of how men talk to others. I think that is so crucial. I appreciate someone who isn't an egomaniac, but rather is respectful and meek, taking care not to flaunt his assets. :)

I am beautifully and Wonderfully made by God. He created me to BE a Woman, modest, caring, bearer of my H's children and legacy which Also means I AM made to be an alluring, sexual creature.

I LOVE it!!

I keep myself "up". Decorate my face & hair & wear clothing that excentuates my body w/out advertising "look at me" .

But w/great power comes great responsibility, right?!

So I am or try to be aware of what I "present" outside of my bedroom. I have sexy, alluring outfits but they are for my H's eyes only. I am modest in public but a sexy, somewhat kinky, adventurous Wife & woman w/my H in the privacy & sanctity of our bedroom ;)

I compare myself to what society views as "beautiful" and Know I don't meet the criteria, yet repeat first sentence in my response, I am beautifully, and wonderfully made... to please my husband. And THAT is what he finds SEXY**

Thankfully, women are not married to society. :)

Yep, and visa-versa! My husband is beautifully (or handsomely) and wonderfully made and pleases me!!! I find that sexy too!!!

My husband and I mutually please each other, and our differences excite us!!! Together, we learn what is sexy to each other and strive to please each other. Together, we drink erotic love and enjoy each other's bodies, minds, and the connection of our souls/spirits into "one flesh"!

While that might not be "sexy" to society, it is sexy and alluring to us - people with a different view on life and love between a committed couple!!! :)

Beautiful and inspiring post, thanks ComingInHot!
