I get the feeling my female boss is attracted to me going by these things

Recommended Posts

Now let me just say that this is not my direct supervisor, it's the director of the company and I just have noticed a few things that suggested there maybe some attraction on her part. Even by how she addresses me in the morning sounds a little strange

Let's say my name is John Doe

Instead of saying "Good morning Mr. Doe" she instead greets me like this...."Hi John"

Is that a way the head of the company is supposed to speak to me in the morning? Not to mention that every time I have a conversation with her she is always smiling and last week she complimented me on my outfit and said...."Nice shirt"

So it looks like I was hired because she is attracted to me and all the signs are there. But of course I wouldn't be a fool to act on it, just that I am kind of surprised that someone so high up in management is so friendly. lol

Does this sound like attraction to anyone else? I have never experienced this before with someone in upper management.

She might very well be. But it would depend on HOW she said those things.

Just going by WHAT she said...if that mean someone was attracted to you, then, well, everyone I've ever worked with has been attracted to me!

(Not a likely scenario...)

Are you the only person in the entire company that she addresses by their first name?

I've been addressed by my first name at every company I've ever worked at, by the CEO on down to the cleaning lady. So, no, there is nothing at all strange about it unless you are the only one she is treating this way.

Not to mention that every time I have a conversation with her she is always smiling and last week she complimented me on my outfit and said...."Nice shirt"

Maybe she's a happy person. Do you expect her to be frowning and angry? Maybe she liked your shirt. I compliment men here on their shirts, suits, and ties all the time, and I have no interest in any of them romantically.

So it looks like I was hired because she is attracted to me and all the signs are there.

No signs are there at all. You are deluding yourself. Please don't embarrass yourself by acting on your suspicions.

So you are telling me that's it not ODD for the boss of the company to greet a male employee with a Hi"? Shouldn't she be saying "Good Morning Mr."" which is more business like?

No, it isn't ODD at all to say "Hi" instead of "Good morning."

Is this your first professional job?

I guess I'm just used to a boss being more serious and not so relaxed. When she told me her favorite show is "Big Bang Theory" I was like......"wait a minute, why is a boss chatting with me this way? lol

And today she was in the hallway talking to someone as I walked past her and as i was walking down the hall she said....."Hi John with a smile"

Once again, this is a BOSS doing this not a coworker

I'm a city employee who works as a job counselor and helps unemployed people find employment.

The style of dress is business causal

She might be the BOSS, but it sounds like she is also a nice, friendly, laid back person. Bosses are people, too.

Why do you sound so flabbergasted that she might smile at you without any ulterior motive? My boss smiles at me all the time. Do you expect her to have serious face all the time?

Yes I guess I did because most bosses have a lot on their mind and normally are not smiling and friendly. But I guess as long as she is smiling as me and saying HI!! I will have a job LOL
