It is so easy in daily life to get bogged down and focus on this life. But it is just a speck (entire book of Ecclesiastes lol). When I think about Christ and those that have successfully run their course, I think of what Paul said and I get back on track to run that race :)

Great reflections! :)

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

When you consider Paul, who was beaten, stoned, whipped, slandered, imprisoned, and eventually beheaded, if he can say that...wow, humbling.

It is amazing what Jesus' apostles and followers, including Paul, endured for Christ. It is so easy to believe in Jesus Christ when there's no negative consequence, but I would think it's much harder to believe in Jesus Christ when one is being imprisoned and tortured for one's belief. I think it's so important that Paul, after he accepted Christ, did not torture anyone who didn't believe in Jesus but rather endured persecution for Jesus!!!

That reminds me of some Christians nowadays in other countries who are imprisoned and persecuted for their faith: Christian Persecution On The Rise - YouTube It is good however for them to leave instead of fighting/killing those who are persecuting them.

We need to pray for the Christians who are being imprisoned and/or tortured for their faith, and we need to make sure to advocate the freedom of religion. One reason why I believe it is important to advocate for freedom of religion is because Jesus did not command his followers to take away the rights of other people to not believe in him, but rather focused on his followers' beliefs: (John 6:44-49).

One of my favorite prayers...Psalm 74

Yet I am always with you;

you hold me by my right hand.

You guide me with your counsel,

and afterward you will take me into glory.

Whom have I in heaven but you?

And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

My flesh and my heart may fail,

but God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.

Just meditated on that when feeling pressed, that God is with us in this life, our shield, our high tower in this life...He gives us his Word (his wisdom and instruction book for life), which is very swift (Ps. 147) and never returns void (Isa. 55:11) and sharper than any two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12)...and if that wasn't enough, after counseling us through this life, He then receives us into glory with Him for all eternity. God is good :D

He also loves His children with perfect love!

1 John 4 NIV - On Denying the Incarnation - Dear - Bible Gateway

"13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

I am a walking miracle,

That is so true and it's so cool how God helps people who are reaching out to Him!!!

ALL of the glory goes to God

Amen!!!

You know TFW, there is still a part of me that loves to get crazy, it's a bit more tame,

Lol, me too. Without Jesus Christ, who knows what I'd be doing right now. :p;)

Now I am "crazy" for Jesus instead of crazy for guys and sex. God's love through Jesus Christ brought my husband and me together, and I am so thankful for the beauty and health in a loving relationship where God is first in both of our hearts!!!

but LOVE music and just have to freak out when the nostalgia hits:D was into softer rocknroll and pop (oh man the people I hung with hated pop) ...I like all of that romantic stuff that is mainly contained in pop (or the older stuff).

I love music too! We should start another music thread! :bunny:

You have excellent character and maybe someday I will achieve that...you have been a major inspiration BTW:D

Both of y'all are major inspirations to me, as well as others whose lives have been touched by God's love through Jesus.

Fortunately, he has enough sermons for another 30 years lol what a legacy to leave :)

I'm actually jealous. He's with Christ now. :) PIH, sometimes I think about my grandparents, elders, great men and women of faith like Adrian Rogers that have passed on and imagine what they must be experiencing at that exact moment in the presence of Christ. It's one of the things I do to stay kingdom-minded. You know TFW, my faith is lacking, and know there is a GREAT need to be more Kingdom minded.

Something quite interesting happened around 1999-2000. I laid down and was in a twilight type state. Was going through so much at that time, and was exhausted both Spiritually and physically.

I literally heard and felt wind, not just a gust, but consistant wind flow. Now this is not uncommon where I live, we have a lot of wind. My window was open and I got up to close it, especially after my door slammed shut, which brought me out of the twilight state. As God as my witness it was as still as could be...no wind, not even a HINT of a breeze.

I started tripping, and then God began to speak to my heart. He said there was a wind of change about to take place, that things are not as they seem. There was much more, athough that was the major message. Shortly after that Joel chapter 2 became very real to me. Now I'm hearing the Prophetic community talk of winds of change a lot.

Joel 2

American Standard Version (ASV)

2 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

2 a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.

3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and none hath escaped them.

4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so do they run.

5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

6 At their presence the peoples are in anguish; all faces are waxed pale.

7 They run like mighty men; they climb the wall like men of war; and they march every one on his ways, and they break not their ranks.

8 Neither doth one thrust another; they march every one in his path; and they burst through the weapons, and break not off their course.

9 They leap upon the city; they run upon the wall; they climb up into the houses; they enter in at the windows like a thief.

10 The earth quaketh before them; the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

11 And Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for he is strong that executeth his word; for the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

12 Yet even now, saith Jehovah, turn ye unto me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

13 and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Jehovah your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

14 Who knoweth whether he will not turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal-offering and a drink-offering unto Jehovah your God?

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly;

16 gather the people, sanctify the assembly, assemble the old men, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

17 Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Jehovah, and give not thy heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

18 Then was Jehovah jealous for his land, and had pity on his people.

19 And Jehovah answered and said unto his people, Behold, I will send you grain, and new wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations;

20 but I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive it into a land barren and desolate, its forepart into the eastern sea, and its hinder part into the western sea; and its stench shall come up, and its ill savor shall come up, because it hath done great things.

21 Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice; for Jehovah hath done great things.

22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine do yield their strength.

23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first month.

24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker-worm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, my great army which I sent among you.

26 And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of Jehovah your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you; and my people shall never be put to shame.

27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Jehovah your God, and there is none else; and my people shall never be put to shame.

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.

30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Jehovah cometh.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah hath said, and among the remnant those whom Jehovah doth call.

Sorry about all of that size stuff....

TFW, it is so important to reflect on the radical things that God has done in our lives. It helps during opressive/dry states of which I am in right now.

Thinking being "Kingdom minded" is somewhere inbetween ...not too heavenly minded, nor earthly minded.

Personally I think this land is on the brinks of a major revival and that is why Gods people are getting hit so hard.

Wow Bethy, this is awesome girl. I was wondering if other believers were into this- I am bigtime.

It's interesting you brought this up...sometimes am crying to God to take me home, and others fearing death...Lord, He's got His Hands full with me...(no lie).

Yes we do have to be ready and deep down know that any amount of crying out to Him is going to change anything...bottom line, He's not done with me yet here and I know it.

Just want to share, that something really cool that is taking place or happening again. My heart was growing cold and detached. Love is coming back hard core. It was the main message back in the day ...love is Gods will for my life.

All of you to thank for this, and I mean every single person I come in contact with online (past and present) and off. Thank you:love: What a gift, you know *tears*

Oh I have a funny....lol...at work I used to say "God is moving"...a co-worker teased me saying, "where's He moving to?" Anyway...God is moving, He's moving across this land like wildfire...thank you Jesus!

Oh man, know I'm going on and on here, but found this one:

Talk about iron sharpening iron ...whoa...took me right up in the Spirit.

With that, and know I'm gonna get some flack with this one, but have to say it anyway.

Freedom in the Spirit, letting the Holy Spirit take you over and just being caught up in Him.

Some churches lack the Spirit and some are afraid of the gifts, like the Vinyard for instance (which is my favorite one in my town) that had some priddy weird stuff take place, then the church split and they lost a lot of members. The Vinyard here puts up with me though because if I have a Word of Knowledge, or a plain word for the Pastor or whatever, I'm gonna speak it.

I've only been to one church that allows God to run the service...God at times would have us stay in worship the whole service and we weren't done till God was. It wasn't uncommon to stay in worship for 4-5 hours, and the preacher speak for 5 minutes. One time the worship lasted for 12 hours and it felt like only one hour had passed.

It's so easy to put God on our schedule...I do it all of the time, but love to step out of that box.

I've had similar experiences PIH :)

"God inhabits the praises of his people"

One time we were worshiping, people were getting tired physically, but wanted to keep worshiping. Pastor said that is what heaven would be like, except we won't get tired. :)

At church last week, we brought a family that has been going through a lot. The little boy (2nd grade) raised his hand right during worship when I felt the Spirit enter. It was so neat...then a husband and wife got baptized.

Please share this TFW...I would REALLY like to know...internet indexing, is that considered "hits" on Google?

Yeah, pretty much. Quickjoe may be able to tell us more, b/c I am pretty sure he is genius with computers :)

But basically, I think the internet indexing should be run like a public library, or at least govt. should ensure there isn't such a monopoly. I know private sector drives innovation, but I also don't like that the internet is completely controlled by Google...who also controls YouTube. They basically have so much power now, that they control all of our lives (not to sound too conspiratorial). Most information is derived from the Internet, and in the information age that means Google has the power to decide how information is distributed. Knowledge should be free and some money hungry corporate tycoon shouldn't be able to decide how knowledge is index based on how much you can pay for his advertisement set up. I just think education/information should be free and not controlled by a for-profit organization. Yahoo is pretty much useless as a search engine and Bing is pretty much the only "competition" (Microsoft, surprise, surprise). Another lazy, non-innovative company that basically rides off the fact everyone's PC runs on their software.

haha are my politics totally messing up your image of me :D I'm basically a social conservative, with a mix of liberal/conservative on economics. For example, I think in a country like USA its ridiculous that everyone doesn't have free health care and access to some form of secondary education like technical school/bachelors. But I also don't like the government taxing us to death mainly b/c they use antiquated evaluation techniques for govt. programming. It's one thing I liked about Gingrich...strong space program and use six sigma to lean out government and get rid of garbage and waste.
