Oh my goodness...I didn't know there were others out there :eek:. Wow, I'm really in shock! I completely relate to the above. Do you feel like a minority amongst the people you know? Do you feel like a minority amongst the people you know? It seems so rare! Kindred spirits pie2 Sometimes, but I think most people know where I'm coming from. I had a very conservative upbringing (and I am conservative myself in many ways, mainly spiritual), but work/worked with a variety of liberals from very moderate to very fringe (most of them were my bosses lol) so I think it's helped me see all sides and the benefits of diverse perspectives. Like Christianity, with politics it's very easy to play armchair quarterback and pick out everything that is wrong, but when you are in the trenches, there is a little thing called reality that often messes with our ideologies lol For example, do you think the missionary in China is debating whether baptism is required for salvation haha no he's just preaching and let the Lord teach them. Same with politics. There are people dying with terrible quality of life b/c they have no health insurance. I see all of these elderly with no one to talk too in nursing homes. No one cares and they die alone. Something needs to be done. Maybe I'm just too in depth in Philippians right now lol It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
