miss_jaclynrae
Just curious if anyone else here is in a relationship with a recovering addict. My boyfriend just so happens to be a recovering alcoholic, just celebrated his 2 year and 3 month birthday! It has been an interesting experience being a non addict and living with a recovering alcoholic. Would love to chat with someone who is in a similar boat!

Clep
My husband used to abuse alcohol, cocaine and marajuana. He has been clean about four years now. We went through seven years of garbage before he got clean and stayed clean. I am here if you need an ear.

Feelin Frisky
Next year will be 20 years since I used cocaine. It can be done. It had me in the worst of grips between 1990-94, so much so that I even passed on relationships because I thought myself unworthy and unfit and very possibly a breaker of someone else's heart. It took several years to normalize. I'm confident today that if a bail of cocaine washed up on shore, I'd turn it in and not be the slightest bit curious about it.

Was your physical body messed up Frisky???? Did you deal with psychosis???? I'm really curious because several years is a long time. I went through a horrible bout with a migraine med back in the day and went through a HORRIBLE withdrawl. It took a few months before my nerves really calmed down...oh it was bad. I'm a recovering sex addict, (forever recovering) I think about it every day, I CAN go without it although it puts me in a foul mood after days (its something I really have to suppress) and doing it myself doesn't seem to cut it , long term at least. It's a lot of pressure on the person I'm with at the time although at first they REALLY enjoy it lol but sucks for any long term relationship, I need to find someone with an extremely high sex drive that doesn't die down, I've SEEN girls out there like this but are in relationships (complaining of the exact same thing I am with their partner lol)
