KRooney
Hello, I'm 19 and am a Sophomore at colege. I met this guy who lives in my hall a few days ago. I was walking in the door with a lot of books and he held the door for me. He then introduced himself and we talked for a little bit. It seemed to be going well, I liked him, he was cute and he invited me up to his suite to hang out. He says people always just come up and hang out there. I waited a couple days and went up there. He wasn't there but I met his friends/roomates. He finally came in and I was like "Hey, Nick...I'm Kylie, remember me from yesterday?" and he said, "Yeahhh" and I said, "I came to visit you." and he said "Just me?" and I said "well, you and your friends." We talked for a little bit and then he disappeared into his room. I figured this was a sign that he didn't want to talk to me so I told one of his roomates that I was gonna go but if Nick wanted he could stop by my room, 309. I left, and he never came by. Well, I guess he could of and the door was closed or something. I haven't seen him around since to say hi to him or anything. I'm a pretty, cool, slim girl and I did nothing to make him dislike me within a few days (I think?). My question is where should I go from here? Should I take the aloofness as I scared him off? He was nervous? Having a bad day? Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your help. Kylie
uriel
You did nothing wrong. From the encounter, it's hard to tell what was up with him. The offer to "hang out" can mean he likes you or it can mean -- our suite's a party and everyone's welcome. That he didn't respond enthusiastically to your being there or stick around suggests he might not have meant he likes you. So, my advice is just to assume there's no connection there. If you see him, just say "hi" and keep going. Obviously, he realizes now that you came up there to see him (your response wouldn't have covered that up). If he wants to get to know you, he can always stop you and start up a conversation in the hall. -- uriel
