My mom is always upset... and they both are always saying that they dont want to be together because the other doesn't want to. My mom tells my dad that she doesnt want to get a divorce because she wants me and my sisters to be able to afford university and doesnt want us to be poor. My dad constantly is saying he's going to leave and get his own appartment.. but he's waiting for my mom to say to say the word.. Well everyday is different but they do get along once in a while.. Any future predictions for my family.. I dont know what to do.. My dad always says he's going to leave but he never does....Are they all talk? Or playing games with eachother i don't know.... they've been togetehr for 20 years.. i dont want my family to break up... Link to post Share on other sites
uriel Posted September 6, 2004 Share Posted September 6, 2004 Sweetie, It's perfectly okay to feel very update about this. I wish your parents weren't being so open about their problems. It's really more than you should have to handle. They might get divorced, but they're not ready to do it yet. Your mother has financial worries. Your father is using divorce as some sort of bargaining chip in the relationship -- or he would just go. But, the bottom line is, that you might need some help in working through your feelings about how unstable you feel your family to be right now. See a counselor at school (not a guidance counselor, a school psychologist). Also, keep in mind that even if your parents do divorce, neither of them is divorcing you. You will always be their loved daughter, no matter what. And a family can go beyond the four walls of a home and still be a family -- as it will be when you move away from home.
