this might not be right section, as its not necessarily an STI (although can be) but has anyone had this?

I got a small outbreak of clear bubble like spots on my lower stomach about 3 months ago. Didnt do anything because I just assumed it was a rash/would go away. But its stayed and Ive noticed a few more.

Went to a dr yesterday and he said it was molluscum contagiosum, part of the pox family, largely harmless, and apparently it goes away on its own in a matter of months - didnt give me a prescription or treatment just said to leave it........Problem is, the spots are above my private area on my lower stomach (about where my belt buckle is). They are unsightly and I would think women would think its an STI even though its not.

Has anyone had this before? Have you found any treatments that work? I want rid of it!

I had the nasty experience of contracting this a number of years ago. A result from an otherwise fun ONS.

Take care of it now or it will spread and linger. Do not have sex until it is completely gone or you will pass it along to your partner.

Get some rubbing alcohol, sterile latex gloves, and tweezers. Sterilize the tweezers with the alcohol and don the gloves. Pop each "bubble" like you would a zit, careful to remove the white "core". Be very careful not to have any of the molluscum "waste" come into contact with any other part of your body.

Make sure you are thorough. Check every day for the following week to see if any have spread or popped up again. If so, repeat the above process.

Within a couple of weeks it should all be gone.

Good luck!

Wow thanks for the advice!!! sounds like you know your stuff!! Yeah, I was a little dubious when dr said it would go away on its own - they told me that when I had a cyst on my back few years ago and it grew the size of a golf ball!

Done a lot of reading online about this, and widespread consensus seems to be that it doesnt go away on its own - considering the publicity that STI's get, how come other conditions arent given much priority?

So after I have popped them and disinfected area should I put bandages on? Did you use Apple Vinnegar Cider as well?

Nope..just sterilize with alcohol. Yes, it will slightly sting, and no, you don't require bandages however if you have a persistent "bleeder", use liquid bandage. Also stings like hell but it beats another outbreak.

My son contracted this and my doctor told me to do nothing that it would go away but it just kept spreading. I researched and found MolluscumRX and it was gone within 3 weeks!! It was a lifesaver!
