My self improvement journey...

I've decided I want to start logging some of the things I accomplish on a daily basis here, in hopes of increasing my motivation leading to better results.

 

Right now my top priority is finishing a finance course, which is needed to get back into Uni for my last few credits/degree (hopefully in the Fall if all goes to plan). I'm unemployed though right now (on unemployment insurance from a lay-off) and I'm not being nearly as productive as I want to be. This course is taking way too long for me to complete and I want it finished by the end of April (it's online course, and the deadline is last day of May to have everything finished).

 

Aside from the course, my issues are my lack of self-esteem, getting over an ex girlfriend that I really should be over by now (we broke up last summer, but I guess it didn't hit me that she was really over me until this past December, when we last talked), being more social (suffer from social anxiety), and finding a job, and/or a passion that I want to do for the rest of my life.

 

Body wise, I keep in pretty good shape and work out quite a bit. It's definitely an outlet. I'm almost done my cardio/cutting period, and then in April I'll start putting on lean muscle.

 

Lastly, two things I really want to keep up, is avoiding going to my exes facebook page (we're not friends, but don't have her blocked), and also not masturbating (today was Day 16 of consecutive days without looking at any type of porn, or any type of masturbating). I'll maybe delve into reasons for that another time.

 

So I'm just going to use this thread to report, hopefully daily, progress I'm making and jotting down some good things about each day, and also areas I could improve in.

 

Not expecting anyone to really keep up with this thread, but obviously any input is welcome.

 

TMRWs GOAL: to finish an assignment I've been procrastinating for over a week on. There is still quite some chicken left on this bone, but I'm gonna grind tmrw and do my best to finish it. All other accomplishments will be secondary.

I've learned a ton in my course the last couple days, and although I still haven't finished my assignment, I got a LOT done and for sure can wrap it up tmrw. That being said, I could have spent more time on it on Saturday, and started my day really really late b/c of a horrible sleep, but wasn't really within my control.

 

Haven't worked out the last couple days b/c my main focus was my studies, but I think I'm going to go tmrw morning, before I get back to work.

 

Received my last assignment back tonight, and got 83%, so that was kind of nice.

 

I did check my exes facebook again tonight (had been a week since the last time), and I'm promising myself no more! I've done that too many times to count though and it's time I get serious about that. I also thought about her in general way too much for my liking the last couple days, and I really need to focus on more productive thoughts. Work in progress.

 

Still masturbation free (tmrw is Day 19) even though this weekend, more than any time before in the 18 days, I got the urge, and was really horny at times, but i fought it off.

 

TMRWs GOALs:

 

-wrap up assignment (probs another 4 hours or so of solid work)

-go for a morning run

-generate some momentum in starting next assignment tmrw evening

-book appointment with doc

Great day. Finished my assignment (naturally took much longer than the anticipated 4 hrs, more like 10+ hrs), went for a 30 min run today, and booked my appointment. Thought about the ex still too much in the first part of the day (morning, and during my run) but the last 10+ hours was straight grinding on this assignment, and haven't really thought of her much at all! Small progress. Bottom line is I'm creating great habits as i've been much more productive in these past few days than before (going from putting in maybe 3-4 hours max of work a day, to 8+).

 

Also obv no masturbation, and didn't look at exes facebook.

 

 

TMRWs GOALs:

 

-30+ min of cardio (maybe stationary bike this time)

-start studying/start working on next assignment

 

too late and tired to brainstorm anymore lol, definetely deserve a nice sleep after working so late!

in terms of fitness, outstanding day. in terms of my assignment motivation, terrible day lol.

 

i went for 2 workouts on the bike today, both beastly workouts. first in the morning for 50 min (17 miles), then b/c i felt guilty with my lack of focus on my assignments today (to my credit i had such a big day yesterday finishing my assignment, that i just felt like i needed a bit of a mental break) i went for another 40 min workout with some intervals (12 miles).

 

also got a few errands finished today which needed to be taken care of.

 

TMRWs GOALs:

 

-morning workout (EARLY as i'm trying to get to bed tonight before midnight)

-grind the rest of the day on my assignment (would like to get 4 or 5 questions finished, which would be about a third of the assignment).

-not really a goal, but watching the leaf game with a couple buddies, however i'm not going to indulge in any alcohol/beer.

-continue streak of no masturbation (day 21 tmrw) and no FB ex stalking (day 3 lol)

geez, the last 5 days have been wasted essentially in terms of my assignment. tmrw no excuses, going hard.

 

on the plus side, i've kept up with my workouts (today was only day didn't workout) and my weight is still dropping ever so slowly (still rigid diet, haven't eaten anything bad in a really in a longgg time). still haven't broken masturbating streak, nor checked my ex fb page (Day 26 and Day 8 respectively), nor had a drop of alcohol, even with a couple nights where the people i was hanging with were. little pressure from them but mostly in good fun.

 

so not all bad...but this week i'm hammering the assignment out. enough is enough!

 

 

TMRWs GOAL

 

-only goal really is to finish a good chunk of assignment. half of it would be nice, maybe a little unrealistic but we'll see. i want to spend at least 8 hours on it.
