morrigan Posted September 8, 2004 Share Posted September 8, 2004 The idea of virginity shouldn't be a great concern--you are in a relationship, it is natural to have intimacy with that person. Are you a virgin from a social perspective? If you've had sexual acts with your girlfriend, I would say you are sexually experienced and not a virgin. Are you a virgin from a "technical" perspective, insofar as having a hymen? Not all women have a natural hymen. You may have your hymen still intact, however sometimes the hymen naturally ruptures, or breaks due to sports/exercise, or the insertion of tampons or other objects. A woman can have have her hymen stretch, but not rupture, during heterosexual intercourse. If you are comfortable and mature about your sexual feeings, there is no real reason to be concerned about a "virginal status" which for the most part is subjective and its definition depending on the culture or group you are in.
