chucksagent
I strongly dislike hypocrites. So I strive to NEVER tell my SO no when it comes to hanging out with friends/family of hers because I would want the same courtesy in return. However....my SO can NEVER tell someone now. We are CONSTANTLY spending our weekends (and some weeknights) trying to keep up with her dance card. The problem is, AT TIMES, I can get us to be quite busy too with my family and friends. The problem is, ALONE we would have an incredibly huge network and combined it is insanity. I NEVER tell her no when it comes to dinners, movies, get together's...AND, neither does she tell me no. So it is DEF fair. But we ran into 2 weeks in a row of unique situations. 1) Had to go to a birthday party for a "friend" of hers who is the worst friend. Missed my SO birthday party, missed our xmas party (we went to hers), has missed MOST important things for my SO. Not to mention, with the exception of one or two people, NOBODY at her get together's talks to us!!! And we are EXTREMELY friendly people! Only thing I can think of is MANY of her "male" friends and family wanted to date my SO before I came around and she told all of them no. Now they see her with me and maybe there is some jealousy, who knows. BUT WE WENT and we were IGNORED. Saturday night...SHOT. 2) Now this week, it's another weird scenario. Without getting too detailed, we had plans to go to dinner tonight with some of her family who I LOVE and was very excited. And at the last minute, a person was invited who we BOTH hate...don't wanna reveal any details for anonymity purposes...But it isn't important, I really don't want to be there. At all...I do not want to go at all. So my last Saturday night was shot, now my this Friday will be shot. The weekend before last we went out with her friend from work and her boyfriend on Friday. Just WHERE do you draw a line where its FAIR for both of us??? PS: What is average/normal nights out vs. nights in for a couple in their mid 30's with no kids? Thanks!
