regine_phalange
April bloom never arrived, I was left dry, hoping for regeneration, but my seeds at all but die. I long to be swept away by the shifting sand, to be freed by roaring winds, to forget who I am. As everything lay so still, silently waiting away. Dusk arrived and tore the wall, pushing the sun down, wet and black, the freezing air. I fell to ground. As everything lay so still, silently waiting away. April bloom never arrived, so I look within, to live the year and season without changes. [...] I perceive myself as my own god, my own master, and my own slave. I am but a thrall towards my own desires. Just when it all seems so hopelessly to break free from what I have done, I will try, do it all over again, and flow with the waves, like the sun. I draw parallels between intuitions and instincts I carried since dawn. When dusk comes, I would like to see I was wrong, though I still am a thrall towards my own desires [...]
Speakingofwhich
Heard this on the radio and loved the lyrics: When I looked at a photograph of Laura Story, I was completely unsurprised that she was "average" in appearance. Not to sound sweepingly stereotypical, but let's just face it...would you truly hear lyrics like this from a drop-dead gorgeous woman? Nope. Hate me if you want. It's true. Everyone knows it. Anyway, what a great song. Totally true to Scripture and reality. Not some hoaky, gaudy song which says everything is swell and chipper and that God is going to give you a perfect life. Duh! Hadn't noticed you'd posted the song already, M30USA! How'd I miss it? Laura grew up in my neighborhood. When she was newly married (less than two years?) her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Surgery removed it but he's been left with lasting disabilities from it. The song, Blessings, came out of that experience. This is all written on the internet if you google Laura Story's husband's brain tumor.
pie2
Can you find an example of a song WRITTEN (not just sung) by a woman who is generally considered to be very beautiful which is also humble and stresses truth as a higher priority than blessing? If you can, great. I'm just curious. God's blessing is part of truth. I don't want to go down the beautiful-women-can't-be-Godly path, because it's not true. If you really want to find an example, I think you would search it out. I know you know how to research the topics you're interested in!
