M30USA
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven - YouTube Evidently Led Zeppelin was asked what the meaning is behind that song. They said it really has no concrete meaning but is just a bunch of imagery and merely superficial lyricism. They were pressed further because surely it had to have SOME hidden, cryptic meaning. They said honestly it doesn't. (Don't tell this to Zeppelin cultists, they may get depressed.)
Robert Z
I don't know about any of that but it's a cool song.
M30USA
Here's one of my all-time favorites, by my all-time favorite band. They are just so damn weird and original. Nobody has ever sounded like them and nobody ever will. Long live Rush! Next year will be their 40th anniversary tour!

pie2
Thank you . Yes, it's Christmas, and I love all (ok, most) of the music, and plus, this thread hadn't been around in a while. :/ Anyway, I could post hundreds of songs, but I'll start with something I never get tired of...Christmas house light shows, lol. On a much different note, O, Come Emmanuel is so pretty.

pie2
Beautiful songs!!! Thanks for sharing Pie! This is one of my current favorite songs: Hero by Kirk Franklin Bethy!!!!! Hello . I'm so glad to see you, and you know what? This is so weird, but the day before yesterday I was wanting to post some more songs but saw the thread had closed again. I just resigned myself to the fact that the thread was closed. But I was super sad, and debating if I should start my own thread. And then you came around! Love it sister . Anyway, I've been loving these songs out right now:
M30USA
Heard this on the radio and loved the lyrics: When I looked at a photograph of Laura Story, I was completely unsurprised that she was "average" in appearance. Not to sound sweepingly stereotypical, but let's just face it...would you truly hear lyrics like this from a drop-dead gorgeous woman? Nope. Hate me if you want. It's true. Everyone knows it. Anyway, what a great song. Totally true to Scripture and reality. Not some hoaky, gaudy song which says everything is swell and chipper and that God is going to give you a perfect life. pie2
Heard this on the radio and loved the lyrics: I had this song stuck in my head this morning! I've heard this song hundreds of times, and love it. It really speaks to me, and I think it's total truth. I do think you're wrong about what you said about her (and others') appearance. No hate though, M30!!
M30USA
Can you find an example of a song WRITTEN (not just sung) by a woman who is generally considered to be very beautiful which is also humble and stresses truth as a higher priority than blessing? If you can, great. I'm just curious.
Negative Nancy
The only song dealing with the theme of "god" that I like... Dark Wave music with cool lyrics how long have you been free in this world of hate and greed is it black or is it white let's find another compromise and our future´s standing still we're dancing in the spotlight where is the leader who leads me I'm still waiting ... leaving home ... and god is on your side dividing sparrows from the nightingales watching all the time dividing water from the burning fire ... inside leave a light on in the night for me, that i can find you remember when we both where young and reckless and so curious now you're hiding from your child ... a new day's dawning remember that you felt alive, sometimes ... and god is on your side dividing cruelty from tenderness watching all the time dividing fiction from reality move in circles, walk on lines no human being in sight calm the winds and calm the seas let´s try another kind of peace who fights this holy civil war a million men in uniform Wo ist der Führer, der mich führt? Ich warte immer noch ... leaving home... and god is on your side dividing presence from our history watching all the time dividing deaf men from the listening ones leave a light on in the night for me, that i can find you remember when we both where young and reckless and so curious now you're hiding from your child ... a new day's dawning remember that you felt alive, sometimes ... and god is on your side dividing soldiers from the fisherman watching all the time dividing warships from the ferry boats... truthbetold
Probably already mentioned but wow! An absolute favorite Another inspirational one from Nichole Nordeman Woven and Spun This one is motivational. And these two are good go to's when down Trading My Sorrows Anything Andrea does, well he's is one of my long time favorites and esp: So many good 70 songs were already mentioned. I can't have a road trip without these guys and especially this one I have really broad range of music that I like and on the 70's topics I think Triumph was under rated Lay It On The Line Lately I'm really into Brad's music saw his summer tour and his guitar work is fantastic. But he is another absolute favorite too! and also
