Silly_Girl
My fiancé and I are writing our whole (non-religious) ceremony from scratch, with the help of our celebrant. We have several components, one of which is just prior to our vows and is called '5 reasons why I Love You'. We won't know what the other person is going to say and will take it in turns. The first one will probably be quite frivolous and silly and they'll get progressively more meaningful and serious. Because I'm so disgustingly and wonderfully loved-up these days I thought it would be lovely to hear what others may say to their loved one. So, if you were stood facing your partner surrounded by all your favourite friends and loved ones, what 5 reasons would you give?

And can really be ourselves with each other; * Your core values inspire me, your integrity assures me, your intelligence engages me, your courage affirms me, your gentleness embraces me and your zest for life electrifies me; * The more I see, the more I like; * The "you" I see reflected back in your family's love and the "you" I hold in my arms each night exceed any ideal I could have dreamed up; * I still melt at the sight of you.

Author Silly_Girl
SG, are you going to share yours? I'm still working on them! Need to say them in front of 70 people and want to get it right Also, Mr SG reads over my shoulder on LS sometimes so I'll post when he's not about I was hoping for more replies. Perhaps it's too personal a thing for some people, or perhaps it's hard for some to think along those lines in a very established relationship with all the usual noise that comes with it. Shame though.
seren
Loved up is a great feeling, we are almost 28 years together and I still get flip flops when I see him. We live very remotely and often it's just me and he for weeks on end, so we have to get along really well. Mine would be: I love you because you make me laugh, out loud at the silliest things. Because you dance with me to the music in our head's anywhere, anytime and often Because you know me and I know you and I can think of no other I want to make dust for eternity with Because I can be in a room and see you look accross with that smile and know you are thinking that you love me, I know because I do it too. Because we have weathered the worse of things and still think our marriage is the best of things, simply because without each other we feel lost.
hannahvxx
Ok, you said you wanted more responses... and I'll do another one that I'm willing to share with others. I love you because you will kill spiders for me without me even having to ask. I love you for the way you bring me a cup of tea and smooth my hair back, the tenderness in the way you look at me makes me feel cherished. I love you for the way we can talk to one another about anything, without fear of judgement and know we can work through anything. I love you for your strength and compassion. I love you for you, all the good parts and the flaws, those I know of and those I've yet to discover, because they make up who you are, and who you are is wonderful. That is absolutely beautiful... Nyla
I love you because: *You make me want to be the best version of myself. *You accept me with all my flaws and foibles. *You treat me like a princess by trying to make my life easier. *All your affection shows me that I am very special in your eyes. *We have a long history that has evolved over the years, each day and each year getting better. *Even when times are hard, you never stop loving and encouraging me.

Cool Thread!!! and not you're not so "disgustingly" loved up, but it is wonderful to be loved-up!!! I love you (my husband) because 1. You are kind, strong, and good. 2. You love me and accept me for who I am. 3. You make the world a better place. 4. You help me be a better person. 5. You are true to your word.
seren
Sillygirl, just thought I would share a wonderful poem that, for me and H, said everything we have ever needed to say about Love. It is by ee cummings, if you type his name into google and then, i carry your heart, you will have the link to it. H read it to me when we were courting (such an old fashioned term) and we said it when we married and again at our renewal some 27 years later. It always makes me sigh at the simple, yet lovely sentiment. I hope your wedding is wonderful, of course it will be, as an old married woman I would say, never go to sleep on an argument, laugh much, dance always and snog, every day, it's the keeping it all on the boil for the long term that takes work, but when it does work it's wonderful. xx
