spirius
Sad music to indulge and get the emotions out or doing everything you can to distract yourself? What's the difference between wallowing and catharsis?
boblet
I say wallowing is a form of catharsis, and if you genuinely feel sad about it, I think the music helps to get it all out. However, if you are in a good mood, I would avoid sad music, I noticed that listening to songs that remind me of my ex while I'm not in a moment hung over him actually worsens my mood and it's dangerous because that can make wallowing an unnecessary habit. But if you need to grieve, I say go for it and let it all out.. otherwise your grief would just find you on another occasion
