Author MissJoness
This woman is more attractive than most women walking down the street so good example OP. She probabaly wouldn't give me the time of day and I'm white. Houston has a large African American community and there are people ranging in skin tone, including couples ranging in skin tone. Your too dark excuse is becuae you're insecure. I'm the same way, it's my weird head, my voice, women don't like red heads... why do men say stuff like this? you're gonna put down the rest of the women and say our looks to measure up? what a real blow to the self esteem
Toddbt12y1
Dear,God...I would blow my own brains out for these types of threads to end.. Just be happy with yourself...or walk around blindfolded...but please, enough self-hate/pity threads.

That's like me posting a pic of Kate Beckinsale saying why can't I get a woman like this. I know you used her for her skin tone and not looks per se but I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about.

ascendotum
I dont have any pictures. Don't want to share them anyway So post a pic of someone from the www who looks somewhat like you then. I am not going to deny that mixed blood / lighter skinned black women do have broader appeal. I still didn't think there was that strong bias when it came to black guys. Its not like you are Mongolian girl looking for a Mongolian boy in your city. You should have lots of same race guys no, and the majority can't think coffee color women are the best. How do your similar friends get by?

How do your similar friends get by? its not that black guys dont mess with darker girls...they do, but they dont try to court them or get into serious relationships. whenever they are looking for a girlfriend or possibly someone to marry they want a girl who is light complexioned. other dark complected girls go through the same thing. Author MissJoness
Missjones, I love dark sisters. We're both in the Midwest. Pm me your pic so I can see what we got. BTW, I'm a good looking 6'1" athletic white guy...supposedly right in your wheelhouse. You don't need a weave or bleached skin to kick it with me. (Anybody want to put money on whether or not she sends a pic?) would you go out in public as a couple during daylight with a darkskinned black girl?
Mme. Chaucer
I keep saying we need a consolidated thread for "nobody that I like likes me because of my race."

SensitiveTJ
These threads are so tedious. Miss Jones, I'm sorry to say that your skin is not the problem. It's just you. I can remember when I was a college boy, doing track+field, our female sprinters were hot as hell. And they were all "darkskin" black women with "West African" facial features. Whatever the hell that means. And they dated men of every color. Black, white, brown, etc. it didn't matter.
Barnacle-Bob
would you go out in public as a couple during daylight with a darkskinned black girl? No. Only at night, when nobody would see you. I mean, seriously....stop with this crap.
Revolver
There are guys that want to date you but you don't want them. There's a difference between no one wants me and the small pool of guys I like dont want me.
Lani
Your issue isn't your skin colour. It's your insecurity about it. Which is totally unwarranted. Work on yourself, then maybe you'll be worth dating. Harsh truth.

Work on yourself, then maybe you'll be worth dating. Harsh truth. my insecurity is a result of not being considered relationship material because i'm darkskin. that's why. if you were a darkskinned woman you'd feel the same way

pbjbear
I dont think shes a troll. I grew up in a city with a lot of black people and alot of white people dont get that there is inter-black discrimination based on shades of color the same way whites and black discriminate each other. Within any group of people, people will find some ways to divide and discriminate other people. In all black communities often there is a division of some sort between light-black and dark-black. I could talk forever about this, I love anthropology and sociology but I wont bore anyone. OP, I would work on other aspects of yourself to make yourself more appealing to the opposite sex. Sorry, I dont know what else to say
Revolver
nobody wants to take me out on a date You said this though "I have attracted tall men in the past it's just that they dont want to commit to me. the short ones are more likely to do this but they aren't what i want. however I may have to compromise and settle for a guy who isn't my preferred height"
Mme. Chaucer
OP, I looked at some of your past posting history and it seems there's a trend of you being intensely insecure about all different aspects of being yourself. You had a large binge about being "too old" (when you were 23??) for example. This leads me to believe that your skin color is just something you're attaching with to hang your deep seated insecurities upon, and if you get lighter you won't find what you're looking for. I think you have serious self esteem issues that go beyond any of your external characteristics. Can you get some counseling?
outsidethebox
The immediate reaction is that "hanging out / sex" and not going out only happens if you let it. Don't "hang out" with guys in the beginning. My other reaction was mrntally inserting "dark skinned" into your statement the other day about being grossed out at a guy's "pudgy little fingers" on you during sex. Just imagine if they were pudgy little dark skinned fingers. Maybe you can see a pattern there.
