big bear
This is my story https://www.loveshack.org/forums/breaking-up-reconciliation-coping/breaks-breaking-up/365735-my-story If anyone reads it, I have not been the best in showing ethics, morals or decency. But I have realized what I did wrong and apologized to people I hurt. To sum up: --> I was a doormat, a cheater, a manipulator, unfaithful and drunk. I have done everything I can to reverse these things but still there are times when I have these surge of emotions: --> Anger, self-pity, remorse, hopelessness, a pink cloud kind of rise and what not. Can anyone tell me what is it that I need to do to make things right by myself. I have destroyed enough of me, but I want to be back. This is not self-pity, I read "THe power of Now" and tried to absorb it but these surges I get in this dead end job are just not leaving me alone. Anyone know anything else I need to do? Tressugar
My experienced advice to you would be to go see a licensed psychologist. Your background sounds very complex and has layers of underlying unaddressed issues surrounding your experiences. My opinion or anyone else's opinion on here ( unless a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist) would be a great disservice to you in addressing the underlying cause of your behavior and emotions. I wish you peace and happiness.
HarmonyInDisonance
The first step to the commitment to change is actaully pretty easy and very rewarding. You need go jogging 3km per day. Can you do that? Break a sweat. I will tell you the rest unless you have injury and cant do it. I hate to say it, but he is right. The exercise you get by running in particular releases all sorts of reward/feel good chemicals. In addition to this you also get many base benefits from simply being in shape. Omega-3 taken daily may help with mental instability, impulse control, ect. There is also the direct sunlight you are liable to get while running. Vitamin D deficiency causes all sorts of problems in your metabolic process. Your brain chemistry relies heavily on your metabolic processes. Start by getting daily cardio as mentioned by Fooled here. Strength training and other such low rep work outs do not really get the desired effect. It's probably not want you wanna hear, but it will at least help you to some degree. Beyond that learn learn learn. Be prepared though, you do not want a stigma attached to you in the form of a disorder. You may just be reacting to your past, or you may have issue with your actual brain. The only way to know for sure is to try to get some help from a professional. If you have the means, shop around. Some are good for you and some are not. Some are not good for anyone. The important thing is to get better, whether it is behavioral or physical. Good luck. Oh and a good multi-vitiman covers a lot of things missed in a less than perfect diet. Edit: Forgot to mention that if your knees are shot, like mine you can also go cycling. Roughly the same effect, but with little to no impact.
