Author Woggle
Maybe you can vilify him like you did the women in your past who made similar statements. Take note that stupidity and low behavior is not the domain of women. Parts of society are broken, like they have been for as long as there have been societies. I never said it was the domain of women. I understand what you are thinking because of my history but this thread has nothing to do with gender. The female cashier agreed with me and thinks that cheaters are scum as well. Every time I go in her line we always make fun of the people on the tabloids.
CarrieT
"Do you ever feel like you are old fashioned?" Sorry, Woggle - I read this and could only think about doughnuts and my immediate thought was, "Nah, I feel more like I'm a cruller... a little twisted, very elegant and light, and oh-so enticing with a light glaze!" Love ya! :D:D
loversquarrel
Democrats and republicans were once a single party. It was the first part formed in America, its opposition was the Whigs (the Conservative party). Upon the decimation of the Whig party (because conservative parties historically always collapse. You can not remain constantly conserved in an ever changing world) the Democratic Party divided with the more progressive wing becoming the republicans (it formed in the north, Wisconsin, my state is its founder) in 1854. It wasn't until the 1920s when the two parties began to essentially flip positions with the republicans becoming more big business conservative and the dems becoming more liberal. Oh, and considering you don't even know the history of your own country's politics, you might consider that you aren't knowledgable enough about the history of socialism to truly understand the conflict with North Korea... A little bit of humility goes a long way Ah...No. The Whig party was formed in the early 1830's and continued into the mid 1850's. Abraham Lincoln was actually the chief Whig leader in Illinois. The Whig party also had its routes as a party opposed to tyranny. They also supported the power of congress over that of the president. May I also remind you that the South was defeated by the INDUSTRIALIZED NORTH. We all know what these industries led to....That's right...CORPORATIONS. I know enough about Socialism to understand that it does not work. It's good on paper but does not work in reality. A good number of socialist nations have a poor track record when it comes to human rights.

The best situation is a healthy balance.
loversquarrel
I'm not a pure capitalist. I don't like corporate greed. I'm arguing history, and I would take what I have over socialism any day. Socialism is the new fascism and capitalism is the new imperialism. How many socialist nations have actually succeeded and thrived without oppression?
ltjg45
I certainly feel old-fashioned. I'm nothing like the modern male in this generation.
loversquarrel
You are knee jerk reacting, I never talked of when the Whigs were formed, only when the republicans were formed. I did however case the fact that the Democratic Party and the Whigs were the dominant parties of America BEFORE the creation of the Republican Party, and that's accurate. Concerning your contention about socialism being a failure, errr... What do you think almost the entirety of Europe is?... Sure, Sweden, Denmark, netherlands, France, Germany, they are such failed states.... Is that why they have a higher standard of living than Americans? They also have more civil liberties than we do. Its not the 1950's anymore, America has been in decline for some time.. All the world is in decline. Who are you kidding? The European economy, as it stands is a house of cards. It relies on the economic power of a few to keep from falling apart, yet it has only taken a few to bring it dangerously close to collapse.
Holyoak
I am far from a right wing conservative. I support gay marriage and I am open minded to anything as long as it is done honestly and without hurting anybody. That being said I can't stand cheaters because it is lying to somebody and deceiving them when they trust you and believe you are a faithful partner. Betraying a person's trust like that is one of the lowest things you can do. I also think Ashley Madison is just vile. Because of these views I sometimes feel like myself and people who feel like me are looked at like we are judgmental conservatives who want everybody to live like the 1950s. Am I just out of step with the modern world? X100000000 for the bolded, and I don't care if they are "reformed" or not. I'm the same way; live and let live if no one is hurt, follow the golden rule not religion, and simply try to get along. I wish cheating somhow could have a very strong punitive component in the law, as the infidelity from my wife is the single most painful, humiliating, finacially destructive, family destructive, and emotionally destructive intentional abuse I have ever experienced; nothing, not even the death of family has been such a profoundly painful, traumatic experience. I mean, I could steal a beat up $2000 used car, and would have to face potential jail time, legal bills, fines, loss of license, loose my job, reparations, a felony record; cheaters/OPOS can literally destroy FAMILIES, have BS and children wish for death, cause live threatening illness, all done without the knowledge or consent of the other spouse and can walk away Scott free... How the hell can this be??? I guess kinda like cigarettes have hundreds of ingredients not listed on the pack, tell you they will kill you, yet are $till legal; if bottled water had 1 PPB over the federal limit, they have to do a recall, lawsuits pop up, etc... Madness.
