Am I tripping or..? point of views needed

Hello all,

 

So I need your point of view on something;

I have a colleague, which I appreciate on a friend level, who has been behaving weirdly lately. I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but I think he likes me but I'm not sure (unless the guy straight tell me I have a hard time guessing).

 

we often talk to each other through instant messages at work, he has already asked me if I was seeing someone, and he keeps talking about going to restaurant together (but I cannot tell if he's joking?!)

 

Last time he talked to me he said hey it's my bday next week, are you inviting me to a restaurant? I just replied with "lol" then he kept going, he said what about thursday night? Then I told him that I did not like to go out at night during the week and he stopped talking

 

I don't know if this is how men usually react with their female friends but I find his behaviour awkward but at the same time I do not want to hurt him because he's a very nice guy, but I'm not into him at all.

 

So what do you think? is it in my head?

Well, you can't really know unless he asks you on a "date" or tells you how he feels. Otherwise I feel like you'd be jumping the gun a bit by cutting him off at the pass......

 

.....however this reminds me of a situation I was in. I would jokingly throw in "I don't date coworkers" which you could easily use as a response to his "are you taking me to a restaurant...." comments.

I think he likes a little
