zanzi
I think I have a schizoaffective disorder. I have been looking it up online. I have always though that the depression Iv'e been diagnosed with missed out a few key elements of what I suffer. For example, I often suffer from delusional thinking, I hallucinate and see things. I am always angry. But I feel like if I go to the doctor and tell him I think this he will not listen to me and brush it off, and give me band aid anti depressant drugs for depression and ignore the psychotic elements of my disorder. I have gone for help time and again and feel like I have been miss diagnosed.
cerridwen
This must be awful for you, and I'm so sorry. At your next consultation (please do find another doctor) stress the severity of the psychotic symptoms. Only a complete incompetent would ignore them and assign a standard AD. Do you have a family member who can maybe accompany you? You express yourself well but maybe having another person to help advocate along side you would be doubly effective. What do you think?
