Disenchantedly Yours
Anyone else have one? I just got one and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I hoping it's going to help me eat better and loose some weight which I've been struggling to loose.
geegirl
I love mine! I make a fruit/vegetable shake every morning. The best thing is that it's so easy! I bought a $200 juicer and it was a pain in the butt cleaning that thing and I lost all the fiber.
Anela
I received one for my birthday, but only opened it on Tuesday afternoon. I like that it blended up the fruit and veggies so fast, with the water in there (it didn't do well on cottage cheese without water, which surprised me - I thought it would be okay since the motor is faster than our old, broken blender). My only problem is that the tall cup isn't that tall. I'm used to being able to pack more into a blender, and tend to go by recipes that require it. I put a certain amount of food and water in there yesterday, and it was leaking (although it was fine later on, when I was more careful). If we can't find a taller cup, I might take it back, and get the $60 Oster from Walmart - still an upgrade from our old $14.95 that put in a good number of years (RIP blender). Kamille
Is it any different than the magic bullet?
Anela
A friend of mine loves hers! She's the reason I wanted to try it in the first place. She was inspired by my juicing - and others who were drinking juices and smoothies - at the start of the year. I've been making smoothies on and off for years, but haven't stuck to it. The lost fiber.
Author Disenchantedly Yours
I received one for my birthday, but only opened it on Tuesday afternoon. Is your birthday in March? If it is, we are totally sisters from another mother. My only problem is that the tall cup isn't that tall. I'm used to being able to pack more into a blender, and tend to go by recipes that require it. Well, they do tell you not to fill it over the line, but the cup isn't that tall. However, I think it's based on what one serving should be.
Anela
Is your birthday in March? If it is, we are totally sisters from another mother. April, but I was thinking the same thing. Well, they do tell you not to fill it over the line, but the cup isn't that tall. However, I think it's based on what one serving should be. I'm having to blend them separately, and mix them together in something else. I wish we could afford a vitamix, but this was too expensive, really.
Anela
Is it any different than the magic bullet? I think it's supposed to be more powerful, but the Magic Bullet looks to have larger cups.
Comfortably Numb
I have a vitamix and it is a godsend! My morning drink is zero fat greek yogurt, almond/coconut milk, three dried figs, a whole carrot, 2 inch slab of cucumber, two hand fulls of spinach or kale, handful of grapes, a banana, two apples, some flax seed, usually some leftover veggies that are in the fridge and then some ice. So delicious! I usually drink half in the morning and the other half during my break at work. Also make awesome mango ice cream with just frozen mango, greek yogurt, a squirt of agave and some nuts!

Mr Scorpio
Why yes, I have a blender. It does everything from smoothies to hummus and falaffel to alfredo and marinades. All for only $49.95.

Hence the Nutribullet.

Comfortably Numb
If I wanted to I could stuff a hamburger and make a meat shake with the damn thing. I literally throw in whole fruits and veggies. Seeds and all! Smooth as silk! And you don't have to spend 600 on it. I have the 7500 and love the damn thing! I bought mine directly from vitamix certified reconditioned for 400. But they do offer a payment plan or you could buy one from QVC which also has installment payments. A vitamix is not a blender. You can actually cook in it as well due to how fast the blades spin and the friction that builds up from it. I can make homemade nut butters, soups, salsa, ice cream, grind meat, ect.... It's really an investment yes, but a tool that does a lot more than household blenders. It won't totally replace other appliances but I certainly use my vitamix everyday so it gets more than it's money's worth. Let me know how well your household blender makes peanut butter, and how long until the motor burns out. Try milling your own flour in your household blender. I can make super fine sugar aka powdered sugar or mill grains into flours if i so choose. Not trying to sound hoighty toighty but I have no regrets spending the money on it. There is no comparison to other household blenders, or "ninja". Just my 40,000 cents! For whatever that's worth to others.

I *want* a vitamix, we just don't have the money. My parents really shouldn't have bought me the nutribullet, because I was afraid of it breaking.

I am not really down with *payment plans* since I think the company ends up gouging you for more money with the interest and it doesn't make economic sense to me to go into dept for items like that. But you are totally making me jealous.

I had no idea one could make peanut butter at home. You've opened up my eyes to a couple new possibilities! Challenge accepted!
mammasita
I know the vitamix can do anything short of getting a woman pregnant.... How is the nutribullet with frozen things like ice, frozen fruit? I have a 20 dollar single serve blender that pisses me the eff off and defeats the whole purpose of trying to have a smoothie for breakfast (my ingredients are frozen)....... Comfortably Numb
Well QVC doesn't charge you anything extra if you make the payments. Sometimes they offer 5 payment plans for it. But I can't verify that =p. I just ate some mango gelato and it was creamy and delicious! You can knead bread in it, but being a baker i'd stick with a stand mixer and your hands. Just my two cents! But a nutribullet seems like it would be good for most drink items. To be honest, I really have little complaints about my vitamix. With a long warranty and plenty of satisfied customers I think it speaks for itself. Just listen: "pick me, pick me." But it'll be something to look forward too! Edit: Mr.Scorpio, I'll make peanut butter tomorrow and show you the difference. Your picture reminds me of when I tried crushing peanuts in my mortar and pestle =p. I won't add any oil! Your picture reminds me of when I tried crushing peanuts in my mortar and pestle =p. I won't add any oil! Please do. I imagine the price will be prohibitive for me. However, if I find that I can make healthy things for myself, then maybe. Just maybe.

I like freezing it too because it makes it colder. I've done frozen banannas and blueberries and it's worked out well. The nutribullet can grind up nuts so I don't forsee other frozen fruit being an issue.
