CarrieT
I love this woman - I really do... She has a handful of mirror images the likes of which get put up on OLD or are used to attract guys. You know, face made-up and peacocking her stuff to look more attractive. But she also shows that she is a normal, healthy, real woman - the kind that if many guys saw without the primping, wouldn't want. Go figure. This is for you guys who want those women you see in magazines. They aren't real...
GorillaTheater
Appearances-wise, she looks great. Although a person could get lost in that bellybutton without a flashlight. Seems pretty funny and earthy, too. Which personally was always near the top of my "must-have" list.

One of my favorite internet googeling (besides Denzel Washington and porn ) is to look at the before and after photoshop pics - they really help my mood when I'm having an off day
MEJ76
My second baby is due in ten weeks. I am so ready to get myself in better shape and health post-pregnancy! I do love my pregnant body, but can't wait to strut for my hubby once my skinny jeans fit me again I have bookmarked the link you attached and will definitely be reading more thoroughly when I have the time. Thanks, Carrie! P.S. kickass thighs on that gal!! My goal
Els
The recent Dove photoshop action controversy is pretty interesting, too. I would really, really hope though that most people already realize that most of the bodies we see on the media are very cleverly edited (retouching, camera angles, lighting play, etc), in addition to the professional makeup and such.
Author CarrieT
I thought everyone caught on to that by now. I would like to think so too, but then we have threads like Do Guys Care About Lace Panties and Push-Up Bras? We need to keep reiterating the point, it seems...
Art_Critic
I would really, really hope though that most people already realize that most of the bodies we see on the media are very cleverly edited (retouching, camera angles, lighting play, etc), in addition to the professional makeup and such. and they always have been, photoshop hasn't been around all that long..I started using in in about 1989/1990 and before that we used prints/airbrushing and bleach/dye/brushes to retouch.. Before digital much of the magic was done in the darkrooms then the retoucher put the finishing touches on it. Living in this industry my whole life I sometimes have to remind myself that the real world isn't like the work we do here... Many of your accounts totally alter the look/feel/age of many of the models in the ads we do. Something else is in the branding, when a product uses a particular model and it's advertising is successful as the years progress and the model changes more retouching has to be done to her to bring her back to what she used to look like so the branding is consistent. Of course this changes the way the public perceives beauty but it isn't the whole reason.. much of it is a person's upbringing rather than what we see in print. Mr Scorpio
I suspect the majority of guys I know would find her attractive. While I'm not attracted to her physically, I am attracted to her mentally for making those stupid-fat faces in the mirror. I do the same thing. I do it and then laugh hysterically at how stupid it looks. Good on her.

xxoo
She looks great either way. Angles in photos definitely make a difference, but she looks HOT to me in the work out clothes sans make up.
sweetkiwi
My first boyfriend was an artist. He loved painting me in unflattering positions. Ones where my belly had rolls and was sticking out in strange places. While he himself had a naturally hard body. Yet he loved all body types and shapes even though he had what is considered "ideal". The simple act of him loving my jelly rolls and even creating art based around my body was such a loving act and he really helped me accept myself flaws and all.

Yes, I find it cute when the bf grabs at my 'love handle', too. I still feel a bit conscious of it myself, though. Two decades of living with an anorexic and controlling mom are hard to break! Hope this isn't too off-topic (I'll request it moved elsewhere if it is, but it seems to be slightly in tune with the theme of this thread): Do you other ladies with little 'jelly rolls' dress to hide them, or do you show them proudly? I tend to stay away from any sort of clothing that shows them off, sticking to empire cut and flowing stuff... but sometimes I think I do myself a disfavor by doing that. And the lady in the link certainly rocks her little black dress, belly or no belly. Would you stay away from clothes that show your non-flat belly?
somedude81
In the photos she is 5'7, 155. She used to be 240. She looks great but she definitely still has some remnants of being obese. Something tells me that a 5'7, 155 women who didn't lose almost 100 lbs would look different. She is an extreme example.
2sure
My daughter recently put a photo of me up on her FB. I said, "Wow! I look gorgeous! Do I look like that?" Her, "No. It's totally photo shopped. It almost isn't you."

She reminds me of a girl i was good friends with for a while until the relationship ended. I'm not sure we are ever going to get those guys to think that what she looks like is better and healthier.

Physically? It's only a matter of time before I lose all desire for sex. I'm sure she will find someone worth her effort but I can't do it.

I'm sure she will find someone worth her effort but I can't do it. See, this is the problem. She probably has a better body than an average American woman. Apart from some loose skin on her stomach, her body looks pretty good. I wonder what you look like to think you need to have a gf with a model looking body. No wonder you are single.
