Mutual Attraction

Today I wore a cute form fitting dress with platform sandals, my hair done cute and ready to go out for the day. I stopped to get gas first and all these men were turning heads and looking at me. One guy even said to his friend, "I bet she's a size zero, mmm, look at her legs.." He didn't expect me to hear that and was embarrassed when I turned around and gave him a look. Then I went into Starbucks and a guy sitting down was bluntly looking at my legs and checking me out and kept on eyeing me. It was kind of creepy if I'm honest.

Then walks in this relatively handsome hunk and he barely gave me any attention. But I also didn't really eye him either. I was very coy about it.

I find that this happens a lot to me. I get all these not so attractive men staring at me and going googly eyed over me, but the minute I find a guy attractive, I can't seem to attract him the way the other men are attracted to me.

I know I'm attractive (an 8 on a scale of 10) and I'd like to think that I could get an attractive man as well (I have in the past). I'm 5'0, 105 pounds, olive skin, tight bum, nice body, blonde hair, green eyes and I dress cute.

But what is going on? Why don't I ever attract the really good looking guys that I like? Why is it that only the guys I'm not attracted to hit on me and ask me out?

They probably have a lot of options.

I've never been one to go nuts over a girl either just because she looks hot.

Are we still living in the 19th century, or can girls ask out guys now?

Not sure on gender roles and how they might have changed over the years.

Yeah, I find it to be a turn-off when a girl pursues me. I'm the guy so I should pursue, imo.

Yea, I didn't like it, but it was just a one time what-the-heck kind of thing. I felt like the dominant one. I rather the guy make the moves, it's manly.

Ever think that there is more to it then just really good looks? The post sounds superficial to be honest. Real character and beauty lies what is inside. The handsome hunks are usually just external well formed molecules with usually little underneath the surface.

Maybe you should re-adjust your guy picker?

Anytime a girl pursued me, she ended up being more crazy than usual. It also put me in the passive role so I never felt like doing anything lol.

Of course there is more too attraction. But it's like ordering food. I'm not going to order Lamb and be unhappy with it because I know I hate lamb. I'm going to order Filet Mignon because hell, it makes my mouth water and tastes soo good!! MMM :)

Attraction is a huge thing. What I am attracted to might not be what other girls are attracted to. I don't like Brad Pitt and all girls like him. He's just not my type. I have my own type and all those guys staring me up and down today weren't my type, unfortunately.

I want to punch you in the neck right now.

LMAO sorry bro. It's how I feel.

Of course, if I'm pursuing and she calls/texts me first or asks me what I'm doing one day, I'm okay with that.

If you are attractive then it is simply a matter of time. How long have you been single and looking for a guy?

The really good looking guys already have their hands full with available women so they don't have to go around drooling at every 8+ that walks in the door.

If a girl persues me i think she maybe a clingy emotionally unstable.

She might also be superficial and only attracted to my outside appearance.

This may sound crazy but I'm going to go with it could be your height. I'm 5'10" and would honestly feel uncomfortable dating a woman who is 5ft. 5'3" is my preferential minimum and 5' is my rock bottom. I don't know if I'm backwards but those are my prefernces.

Are the guys that ask you out repulsive? No cute ones? The reason I ask is because most men are going to ask out women who they feel are attainable. Sure some don't care that they look like Chunk from the goonies and will ask out women way out of their league but it's the former for the most part.

Most guys do value looks but there might be a vibe you're putting out to the ones whom you would like to attract. Don't try too hard. Act natural, and dress casually. Guys can be competitive and like to pursue women but some might consider you unattainable and therefore not worth the chase.

Physical attraction is important but don't let looks be the only factor.

Don't be afraid to approach guys. If I want someone I let him know. Yeah, it's great to have the guy make the moves but some might not pick up on your cues. Don't miss the opportunity!

You sound cute from your description/pic, but it's honestly not that hard to turn the heads of average guys.

Any guy who's had success with women also knows not to show too much interest himself. Those average guys know they're not going to get anywhere, they can just gawk and make comments amongst each other and show an overbearing level of attention, to them you might be a ten even (at least compared to what's available to them).

A guy who's confident and better looking is going to have more room to be selective, and he also might not want to join the pack in drooling men over you (it's noticeable even to guys). He'll just either ignore you or give you a minimal amount of attention if any, it's better to walk in to a place and not give the "hot" girl in that situation any more attention than she's already getting, unless he really feels like making a move, but that's definitely not ideal because she's already thinking a lot of herself or is validated at least in her appeal...but honestly the attention is usually way overkill from those kind of guys.

I've walked into those situations myself and noticed men drooling over the girl, but not because she was necessarily great looking, but because she had some low cut skirt on or sexy dress/outfit, she was just all made up and they were all giddy and excited over it...personally I felt the girl was average but dressed to impress, so I understood the attention, but overall she wasn't my type even though she looked good. I felt like she was getting an overbearing amount of attention for it, even though she didn't want it, I've had women express that to me before and feel really uncomfortable over it (regarding these men).

But it works the same way for guys sometimes, you're looking at someone across the room that you find attractive waiting to see if you connect eyes, and then this...."thing" you don't even notice because you're distracted, comes up to you and starts talking to you blocking your whole view and then THATS the exact damn time the other damn girl looks back at you seeing you talk to this person. This girls got hot cheetos breathe, she's short and way too overweight to be wearing "that" but she thinks she looks "hot" because her tatas (breast) are pouring out, she's got way too much make-up on trying to bring out the color of her "eyes", her feet are pouring over the sides of her two sizes too small gladiator sandals (which are totally out of style now), and she's like trying to chat you up, so you're polite and then move on.

You end up talking to this other girl you were trying to talk to in the first place and what does she say? "Oh so, is that your GF you were talking to over there?"

OP, Ninja has the insightful explanation, but Yookie gave the Clift Notes summary.

How many more of these threads about a women wanting really hot men is it gonna take to realize how hard it is for average looking men?

Have it your way, dude. I'm 6'1", and if that's her in that pic, and she's 5'....yeah, just go ahead and sign me up*.

(* yes, I'm aware that I'm giving her the validation she is obviously looking for, but I don't care...she's cute)

No need for a disclaimer lol. I don't care if it's giving them validation but I speak the truth. She's attractive but height is power, even for women! Imagine if she was 5'7", her stock would go way up man. I'm telling you I think it's her height. You would date her and so would I but it would take some getting used to as I don't really like more than a 6 inch difference. But the million dollar question is would she date a 5'5"-5'6" guy? That's a 5-6 inch difference. OP?
