People Just Bother Me...

Recommended Posts

BlondeCupcake

I go to a small highschool and every morning I walk out of the house with a positive attitude but the people at my school always tend to ruin it. It seems like lots of people make fun of me all the time and I don't think it's just me. I've never been that pretty but I didn't think I looked that bad. I've always been really awkward and shy though, maybe that's it. I just want someone to honestly tell me if I'm ugly or not, just so I can no. And none of this "everyone is beautiful" stuff because our world doesn't really work that way...

I don't normally engage in the "rate me" stuff, but it's a slow day.

I think you're fairly pretty. You have skin issues that are probably a hassle to deal with at your age, but you have a nice smile and beautiful eyes.

High school can be a shop of horrors. It'll pass, but I'm sorry you have to deal with it in the meantime.

Yeah, I don't mean to do things like this it just was getting to me. Thank you anyway though, thankfully highschool will be over soon.

Believe it or not, you'll be laughing about it in a few years time. I had my share of being picked on in HS as well, doesn't matter now, well, it's been a while too.

I promise you that things will get better. I felt the same way when I was in high school. Now I laugh about it, or I don't even remember the incidents.

Also, you DO have beautiful eyes. Make sure to play them up if/when you wear makeup.

I think you'll be fine. Just try to leave the nonsense you're dealing with behind you once HS is over. There are too many people who dwell on the wrongs dealt to them by morons in school, even years after the events.

This is a very general observation, but oftentimes while teens are very fragile, they also can be remarkably unempathetic. The same folks who are giving you a hard time now will be the ones who will want to be your friends ten years from now. Your best bet is to deal with the hurtfulness with as much grace and humor as you can muster. I promise you it will get better.

Once again, thank you guys for your words of support. I just want to say I'm not seeking attention or anything like that, I just wanted to let it out. I can't wait until I'm out of school and never have to see any of those people again. People who make fun of others for no reason probably aren't going to do much of anything in life anyway. So hopefully once I'm in college making a name for myself, I can look back and laugh at all the people who said those things.

What field of study are you interested in, once you get to college?

Not ugly at all!

You will be amazed at how much people change after high school. You will see some of the "hot" people get ugly and let themselves go, "successful" people end up mired in mediocrity, "losers" end up owning thriving businesses, etc.

It sounds cliche and boring, but it's true: focus on keeping your grades up and gaining quality experiences (sports, clubs, etc.). If you have good grades, you have options once you graduate. Don't buy into any misguided sentiment that "high school should be one of the best times of your life". Just get through it, enjoy the company of your true friends, do your best to ignore the *******s and bitches, and know that the best is yet to come.

I read something in People magazine the other day, the issue with Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover. When asked by her daughter why people say mean things about her, she replied that those people are hurting and project their hurt onto others. Her 8-year old daughter understood.

You are very attractive and I think other girls envy you and so try to knock you down a peg. Look at it from that perspective -- it's not about you, it's about them. Ignore, be polite and disengage.

Honey you are gorgeous!

The world doesn't end with Highschool. Once you graduate and move on to college things will change.

I agree. Can't believe people make fun of you. You have really pretty eyes and a very nice smile. You look fine.

I'm really shocked that people criticize your looks. Like.....is there a standard look where you live that you don't fit? I live in SoCal, beauty comes in so many different forms out here people wise and I've yet to see someone be called ugly unless they've got a deformity or disease or something.

Baffling to me lol.

You are a very pretty girl and will blossom further.

Secondary School can be a nightmare. I had a hard time too but I actually did look terrrible, lol. My family were unable to care for me so I was moved around the care system a lot. Luckily I had continued with my talent in gymnastics and basically lived in the library at other times. In the end I realised that my life was actually perfectly fine and even if I looked like the people who made fun off me I would not want to spend time with them. They were fake, horrible people.

I didn't see it coming but my blossoming came and I have pretty much stayed the same ever since. I cannot believe how haggard the people who made fun off me look now! I think ugliness comes out physically eventually.

Seriously, be yourself and try and be graceful, like what Gorrillatheatre said.

.. Nice to see such a lovely looking girl with good intentions for the future. :)

Take care,

Eve x

You are pretty, intelligent, and will do well if you keep the perspective of high school being the suck in check. I turned into a hot commodity in college. I can assure you I was not one in high school. You will also connect with people with similar interests who will be more attractive to you, too. This too shall pass.

You are a very pretty girl OP, your eyes are beautiful and you are very lucky with your hair colour. As you mature, you will grow prettier still

You look like the girl who plays Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones if she grew her hair out.
