Lost in the Moment
Ok I am kinda young but I need help on this. I am 14 and want to get a cartilage piercing but my mom insists it's too dangerous, I already have a lobe piercing which I clean daily and I promised her that I will do the same but she's afraid I'll get a "colliflower" infection. I insist that she's overreacting and that I have a ton of friends with cartilage piercings(which I do). I cannot persuade her otherwise maybe if you guys could give opinions and proffesional input it would help. Thanks in advance.
lydiamarie
if you ever get pierced, get it done by a proffessional. and i'm not a fan of piercings on men (or boys)
tiki
Get it pierced with a needle instead of a gun. Professionally, that is.
DerangedAngel
I had mine done with a gun. At WalMart. Mine has never been infected. Hurt to sleep on that side for a while, but that's all. However, they really are more likely to get infected than traditional lobe piercings. And the infections can be pretty serious. I don't think that's what you wanted to hear. http://my.webmd.com/content/article/82/97376.htm You don't want to lose that cartilage do you? So whatever you do, don't go all rebel on her and pierce it yourself. If you have it done by a professional with sterile equipment, you shouldn't have a problem. Cheers & Good Luck convincing your mom. Been there, done that. I rebelled. -DA
tiki
Mine was several years back...but it hurt so bad I couldn't sleep on it or use that ear for the telephone. It was constantly sensitive. But I'm a wuss.
