biggysmilez Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 so i broke NC today. it sucked. i had to do it, however. my ex left me with the rent and all the bills to pay at our apartment when he walked out. then, i found out today that he had the audacity to ask the landlord for his half of the security deposit back. i texted him and told him that it was not fair because he did not fulfill his obligations to the end of the lease. he did not respond. i did not want to communicate with him, but i had to do so. i am just hoping that this doesn't set me back. i'm already checking the phone more and my anger towards him has returned. but i can say that i think this has opened my eyes up to what kind of person he is, right? a good person would not do this. praying this isn't a setback. has this sort of thing happened to anyone else out there?
aisuru Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Three words... Small claims court. I hope both your names were on the lease and you have proof of what he paid and didn't pay. Frankly, your landlord shouldn't be providing any deposit to the ex if you are still in the home. Interesting... 1
