Ex contacts my family after 7 months of NC. What do I think of it?

Hey all, it's been almost 7 months since i've posted on here concerning my break up with my ex boyfriend. When we broke up, he said he needed his space. I was devestated because he was the only man I was ever truly in love with. It took me about 3 weeks to get to the No Contact stage. When we broke up, he told me to not to close any doors. At the time of our break up, there was so much drama going on. I caused most of it. During the past 7 months, we've only spoken twice. I saw him at the Warped Tour this past summer by coincidence. I've had about 2 boyfriends (very "non-serious") since him. I'm trying my best to move on and have come out a stronger person. I've changed a lot in these months. New experiences, new lessons, my eyes have opened to things i've never seen before. A situation occured between us about 3 months ago that made me bitter towards him. Up till about a month ago, i've been content with my life and have had next to no feelings for my ex. Although I continued to see other guys, he was still always on the back of my mind.

Lately, he's been weighing on my mind and heart more heavily. Every day I think about him and how special he was to me. I miss his family so much. HIs mom and I were really close. I've tried SO HARD to wipe him from my current thoughts but for some reason, I cannot. When we broke up, my mom helped us both out very much. My mom and my ex talked about me and what I needed to work on and that he wants to eventually work things out but there's just so much I need to do for myself first. My mom and him both agreed to stay in contact and for my ex to call my mom to see how I was doing if he was ever curious.

Here's the real question: About 3 monts ago, my ex contacted my mom. They were decently close too. They talked for awhile. My mom said he did not ask about me at all and claimed he already knew what was going on with me which is a total lie because we have no contact. Then he called her again about a month later. My mom didn't answer and never called him back. This past weekend, I was in San Diego. When I got home, my mom told me that my ex called her and said he was in the area and wanted to come over. He came over with a girl and visited with my family for about an hour. My mom said she couldn't tell whether or not the girl was his g/f. He inquired a little bit about me, asking how and where I was, Blah blah blah. Now, i'm thinking...WHAT THE HELL?!?!? I logged on to AIM about 2 days ago and as soon as I signed on (I was on aim through my phone), he IMed me for the first time since we broke up 7 months ago. He said "phone aimin?". My repsonse was "You know it". I wanted to keep it short and non-emotional. That was all that was said between us. Why the hell is he contacting my family? What's going on? I kind of just want him to stay out of my life completely or to call me or something. I'm pretty confused. I apologize if this message is so scrambled! My mom wasn't too specific about the details. I told her I just wanted him to butt out and stay out. She said "well, maybe he's curious about you". I have a feeling my mom isn't telling me the whole story. Please help me clear my head a little bit! Thanks to anyone who responds.

You need to talk to your mother. If you really don't want him contacting her you should ask her how she would feel about telling him to stop. Of course it is her decision but I imagine that most mothers want to do what is best for their children & if it is best for you not to have him contacting your family then I imagine she will respect that. You weren't married & I'm guessing that he is not the father of her grandchildren so there is really no reason why she shouldn't be able to abide by your wishes in this matter.
