annaballerina
It's hard seeing the ow because it makes it more real. My dad had an affair and ended up marrying her. She was not as nice looking as my mom. Heavier and physically not as appealing. Physical appearance is only one piece of the equation. Don't compare yourself to her there's a reason why he married her and a reason why he was involved with you. Put your energy into moving on. It doesn't matter what she looks like what matters is getting on with your life.

dreamingoftigers
Oh somebody please start quoting how men are supposed to find the fertile young women everywhere to carry his seed..... I totally agree that my obese husband (who looked as pregnant as I did at nine months) was totally justified in finding anything that moved to plant it in. Because his seed all over the place did so many good things for our marriage and humanity at large. It's all the same argument. We're only worth as much as how we look. Sigh. Hockeyfan, you're my Thread Hero. Totally agree. And what is so sad is there are so many reasons a woman could have gained weight. Medical issues, financial issues, marriage issues. Why do women first take jabs at appearance? I guess if someone isn't 'perfect' or beautiful, she must not be worth the effort. More stereotyping of women BY women!! There is enough issues with this with the media and entertainment industry....we have kids killing themselves over 'looks' and being made fun of for things they cannot control (how their face is shaped, how the features are defined) and some things that can or cannot be controlled (body shape - genetics play a part, medical issues play a part and other various things). So many women I know have thyroid diseases which affect every part of their body .... but I guess those women better watch out because they are not size 2 and have lines of aging on their face....must mean they deserve to be cheated on
