My gallery image and work out ideas

Recommended Posts

Currently, I do not exercise and I eat alright. I enjoy healthy foods a lot but I do eat a treat every day.

I let myself go in my relationship and did no exercise and I ate crapp every day.

I have lost a few kilos since due to loss in my appetite, however, I want to get fit and healthy again and am not thinking about the weight loss component.

I want to go from no exercise besides occasional walking, to

- slow jogs about 2 - 3 days a week. I really enjoy listening to music and jogging slowly. It also tends to give my a great body insofar as most people are concerned, without slaving away at the gym

- although I have a gym membership I want to use, to do 30 mins to an hour of cardio 2 days a week, to give variation to the jogging. The rowing machine, stair master, cross trainer, bike....

- As well as cardio for 30 mins to an hour 5 days a week (weekends off), I want to eat healthily 80% of the time, with 20% treats.

- to top it off, I want to do resistance work twice a week, to encourage my bones to remain healthy and strong, and not for definition. I hate becoming too tones and hard and do not like heavy weights for the sake of looking that way.

- Pilates most days, just in the evenings as I wind down for bed and watch TV: it is excellent for you core and stomach region.

.......................................

How does all that sound? I am not every ones cup of tea I AM NOT SAYING I am hot stuff to every one at all, or even most men.

Frankly, though; due to my age, mid 20's, and my body without a great diet or doing any exercise but walking, I would say that I do not need to diet extremely or over exercise to an obsessive point.

I look good for someone who only walks. I think I would look great just doing some cardio most days, with days off and not some crazy diet.

Does my routine I plan to follow sound like a healthy and sustainable one?

I will have weekends off, eat crapp when I really crave it, but balance it out with mostly healthy food which I love anyway.

I will have days off if I am tied or busy.

I am about 125 lbs , curvy bodytype, with 32 DD's or 34 D's.

I do not want to be skinny or lose weight really, I just want to tone up a tad and be healthier and fitter.

Although 120 lbs is my "hot" weight where I look the best, that is the lowest point I will ever get to again in my life: it is the lowest I can go whilst still being a health weight for my body type.

I don't weigh myself anymore so I Have no idea what I weigh, but I got to 132 at my heaviest with my relationship and letting myself go, the last time I checked ages ago.

I thought you would flame me for "wanting to lose weight" or " having unhealthy thoughts"

Go to my gallery.

The pic is there in my pictures.

I actually think I look good (although I am not everyone's cup of tea and I am not claiming to be a super model, a lot of men dislike boobs my size)

I Just want to see peoples opinion as to whether my 5 day a week cardio and 80/20 eating plan when no food is off limits or anything, is healthy and sustainable.

After a long absence from exercise and healthy eating, I think I have finally found a happy medium: cardio most days but not TOO MUCH, days off when I want them, and eating what I want but in moderation.

To me, that all looks easy to follow, and not like I have to go without anything.

It is amazing how lazy I became in my relationship. I LIKE jogging and keeping active yet I just sat around all the time.

It put me in a bad mood lol.

You have a great figure. But girl, you REALLY need to clean your room! You're not going to be able to institute any positive new direction in your life unless you get a handle on your immediate surroundings, I believe.

Yep I have had to move home.

I agree it always feels WAY better to have a neat room.

And thanks - I like my general shape, although I have some things that I feel would be more attractive.

I would like a smaller waste and to be more hour glass opposed to slightly top heavy.

I also like the look of smaller boobs as they are perkier lol.

On the whole though - my aim is to just do what I enjoy, which is to not feel unwell and unfit, that is for sure.

I really want to see what I look like after I STICK to a resistance plan, twice - three times a week.

And yes I am against heavy weights for MY figure and goals, however: I will be doing body pump classes that have weights but higher repetitions.

Looks like a nice figure to me. :)

I dunno, Leigh, I think it would do you well to focus more on your life direction at this time, while just sticking to maintenance for your body. But that's just me.

Thanks Elswyth.

People know my stance on my body and appearance: I think I am attractive to some, yet not to others.

I would rather people focus on, not my body and how good it is or isn't, but: I want people to list things THEY would do, that would make a positive difference.

EG, resistance work, etc etc.....

I figure there are things out there I may not have considered.

I've found that doing ridiculous amounts of cardio and some weight training allow me to eat some fairly unhealthy stuff and still not gain weight. Not good given that i'd actually like to lose some weight, and so need to eat more healthy... But makes the maintenance easier.

When jogged 4 days a week and did pilates a lot I could eat THOUSANDS of calories (3000 and more) and maintain 120 lbs.

It is not skinny but it is thin on my body type.

Lol I would be skinny if I did an hour of cardio 6 days a week and ate super healthy the way some people do. I would literally be too thin.

I think my routine will get awesome results. The best thing is it is only 4 days a week of set cardio (2 days a long jog, 2 days at the gym with a mix or diff equipment)

Then I will to Pilates moves most nights and only 2 nights a week resistence.

I mean I will get weekends off and I will get to eat what I want when I truly want it.

MY DOWNFALL?

Portion sizes of junk.

I have an ion stomach. I can eat a LOT of junk food without feeling the least bit full.

I have always eaten more than all my friends from a very young age and stayed a healthy weight. Not super thin but relatively small for what I eat.

My thing is I have to try to control portion sizes.

Since my recent break up I have just stopped over eating. Just like that.

You just need to be consistent with diet and exercise. You got out of the habit. Reinstate the habit. Muscle memory will kick in so you will snap back a lot faster than someone who has never exercised.

Thanks fitchick, I really hope the theory of muscle memory is indeed correct.

I was once a very fit women with a near perfect diet, as little as 2 years ago....

I have only really been unhealthy the past year?

Anyway, I am hoping my past will help me snap back.

Just do it! Put on your running shoes and go!

Good for body and soul. Talking about it....not nearly as good for anything.

Today will be my first day back at the gym. It's raining hard, so I will just go on 3 different cardio machines for an hour and then tone with some weights.

And yes xxoo I just love running and I can't wait to feel better from it. It gives me such a good feeling.

Well I am 127 lbs now! Without working out or trying, I have lost about 8 lbs since IDIOT left me.

:lmao::laugh:

I just did ab work and hopped on some cardio equipment quickly.

I will go for a long walk tomorrow with a friend (will be with friends most of the day)

I try to make healthy choices but you know.. I do not do 100% clean eating now.

I get like fat free yoghurts with some added sugar because they are super low cal, but taste really good as a snack.

I need to start the resistance /weight group fitness class at my gym ASAP, starting next week.

I am hoping to look hotter by my trip with the 2 times a week resistance classes! They always did wonders for me.

Junk food is important! The most important part of an exercise plan is sustainability hence if I want junk food I eat it...I love exercise and im a firefighter so i'll have a maccy d's for lunch and then ill work out at the fire station rather than playing pool when we haven't got a call.

Just a question of balance!

I like the weekends off thing as well - lifes for living after all :D

One of my favorite snacks or breakfast is half an avocado mashed up with lime juice, salt and pepper and chopped parsley spread on multigrain toast. Very filling and delicious and good for you.

If you crave sweet, you could just use lemon/lime juice and a drizzle of honey and sprinkle of cinnamon.

Oh I totally believe that junk food is what MAKES you slim; your not depriving yourself so you lose the fixation with food.

My Russian friend is a model, and about 6 lbs lighter than me.

When she walks past KFC or junk food she is like Oooooooooooooomg I want hat sooooo bad UGH life sucks.

She ends up eating it ANYWAY and feels bad about it.

And LOL - I am almost the same size as her:o except I am curvier and have boobs and a butt. It is not like she is that much smaller with her starvation diet that limits junk food....

Where as I am like " yum hot chips yes please" and I am able to have a serving and not go crazy about them.

I am relatively slim for the amount I consume, and with my age on my side for the next few years, I feel that I can be slim - ish, eat well 80 % of the time, and have a slim body through being active.

...............

My thing is: when I really feel like something I have it. No matter what it is.

I always am happy to have a salad after to compensate and go for a jog.

I can understand you being a fire fighter and needing junk.. I like cookies or ... fun foods on days where I am on the run and want something nice.

My room is now clean.

And I HATE AVOCADO!

Although I enjoy it on rye bread (DARK rye), and only toasted.

Weird huh.

I seriously hate it otherwise...

My ex loved it which also makes me hate it more:sick:

Wow I couldn't live like that!! no way! I always say like I box, and I love it, but I couldn't do it professionally because you have to 'weigh in' before a fight, so like be under a certain weight (but the closer you are to the max the better) so like 2 days before fights you get guys like surviving on just salad leaves in like a desperate attempt to weigh in - and im just like wow, I mean its dedication but I'd just be miserable, I love food - id rather fight a guy twice my size and have a kfc before!

exactly! And like I'm attracted to girls who look fit & healthy and people who starve themselves till there sick thin just in my eyes don't look healthy!

Plus - who wants to take a girl out to dinner who orders side salad & tap water

and with my age on my side for the next few years

On the subject of age/metabolism, it's worth noting that the effect of ageing is far, far less than most people would have you believe. Middle age spread happens for two reasons

1) Sedentary lifestyle leads to decrease in muscle mass, which leads to slower metabolism and more fat gain for the same diet as before.

2) Slow accumulation of body fat reaches a noticeable 'tipping point' - if you gain a pound a year from age 21 you'll be well into your thirties before you start looking chubby, but that wasn't caused by suddenly being 35+. It just took that long for it to become noticeable.

If you work out enough to maintain the same proportion of muscle mass that you had in your twenties, your metabolism essentially remains unchanged as you age.
