Amazon22
Wow, it has been quite some time since I have signed on! Hope everyone is doing well! Anyways, got an issue... My boyfriend of 6 months is quite a handful. First off he's a dentist, he's Canadian, and he's 12 years my senior. He's also Croatian. I have only met two people with whom he associates, his sister and her husband. We have only had a few minor arguments and those were resloved rather quick. Aside from that, the relationship is great. My question is this; Is there anyone here that is familiar with CROATIAN TRADITION? Meaning marriage engagements, weddings, dating...anything! He is very tradional, and his "culture" is important to him. -Haley
dyermaker
If his culture is so important to him, why can't he answer your questions?
Author Amazon22
Good question. We really don't talk about it that often, and I don't want him to think that I am jumping to conclusions in our relationship. I know that each culture has dating and wedding traditions, just wondering if anyone here has any info on Croatian Tradidtion! -Haley
CurlyIam
I'm from Eastern Europe too and if tradition is important to him, boy, are you in for a ride!!!! At least in my culture we have a certain way of doing everything, from proposing 'till having planned each moment of the marriage day. It also depends a lot on which region of the country he is, as customs may vary significantly from one place to another.I mean, its the songs sang, it's the clothing, it's... trust me, it can be incredibly rich! I kind of doubt a man could care so much about respecting his tradition so much after living for so long in a foreign country. And the bad part is that I doubt you can find too many things on the net. At least as far as my culture is concerned, I can assure you there's almost nothing on the net, and all that you can find is in my native language. One idea is to try to join internet communities on the net (like people who married East Europeans). They can share a million things about certain aspects of everyday life, from cuisine to marriage customes. Life with a man from another culture can certainly be very difficult, but once you understand it, it's breathtaking . Good luck, Curly
