Laika Posted October 3, 2004 Share Posted October 3, 2004 My friend recently told me that things were a bit unstable between her and her boyfriend at the moment, which came as a bit of a shock because they are a very devoted and close couple. When we were chatting about it, she told me that one of the problems is that her boyfriend fancies me. This came as a complete shock and I wasn't sure how to reply. I feel my relationship with my friend is quite tentative anyway. We met up a few months ago after not speaking or seeing each other for a few years. I've really enjoyed seeing her again and it's been great hanging out with her as I've missed her friendship. Plus, it's been so nice to see her in such a happy relationship. It's been a bonus that I get on with her boyfriend as well as he's a really nice guy and very easy to be around and chat to. She says it's not the fact that he likes me but the fact that he is starting to look elsewhere that is upsetting her. She also said that she doesn't want me to feel uncomfortable around him and doesn't want it to affect our friendship. I'm just really worried that it will. What goes on in his head is not under your control. she doesn't want me to feel uncomfortable around him and doesn't want it to affect our friendship That's mature of her, and it's a good goal, but I'm wondering if it's even really possible? morrigan Posted October 4, 2004 Share Posted October 4, 2004 It's unfortunate that your friend told you about her bf's feelings--it puts you in an uncomfortable spot. Like Solemate said, there is really nothing you can do about the situation, outside of not hitting on the guy. When you hang out with your friend, try to do so when her bf won't be around, and have girls' nights out. The two of them may possibly break up anyway. Link to post Share on other sites
