FitChick
This article refers to the Bar Method and similar types of exercise but it probably applies as well to other types. Bottom line is to not get discouraged because you will eventually see results.

tbf
Well sure. It's common sense. You're building muscle under the fat. The more muscle built, the more caloric burn even when you're not exercising so there's a tipping point where when you've built up sufficient muscle mass, you're going to burn more calories and start to lose inches through fat loss. What does appear to happen is when people exercise, they feel more hungry and eat more where, depending on how much fat they're trying to burn off or how many excess calories they intake, they end up gaining weight (through muscle mass) and inches (fat mass).

Fitgirl_xO
I train off and on for bikini contest throughout the year. With that being said if I take time off & start up again, no matter how my diet is I will consistently pack on the pounds & even BE larger due to muscle mass being gained vs fat loss barely starting to rev up. Our metabolism is amazing when we keep it revved up: Drinking LOTS of water (at least 1 gallon a day), eating every 3 hours & weight lifting is key. My cardio consists of walking & I get shredded. It's all about diet & weights
