iouaname
So over the past six months, I have lost a ridiculous amount of weight, to the point where I've had family members asking if I was suffering from an eating disorder. Starting this month, I'm attempting to gain some weight. I'd like to gain about ten pounds by the end of the month, but I don't know if that's doable? I know pretty well how to do it, but was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for things that might help me gain it a little quicker/easier?

Just eat lots of pizza everyday for a month!

Eat 1.5 grams a protien a day with a lot of complex carbs, per your body weight. It helps to do weights in packing quality weight. But main thing get enough calories, not empty calories. pink_sugar
10lbs is a lot of weight in one month. Your best bet is to do it gradually. For a lot of people it's hard to change their eating habits for immediate results and then immediately change their diet back. You'll have to gradually add certain food to your diet and find a way to maintain that weight without excessive weight gain.
Shepp
Muscle weights more than fat - try protein shakes or just a high protein / carb diet and some strength exercises - push ups, sit ups, pull ups, weights, punching bad.
Mr Scorpio
Since none of our resident experts replied, I'll be the jerk and tell the OP that it is not realistic to expect to gain ten pounds of muscle in one-month. It probably isn't even realistic to expect to gain one pound of muscle per week, unless you are seriously eating a lot of food.

But yes, probably not a realistic goal for most people...

Darnell21
You can get rid of it just by making a bit of effort,You should keep yourself physically active and have food which is good for you i mean doesn't contain anything much like fats or calories. Walk at least 1 hour a day and it will make you achieve your goal for sure.

I'm not necessarily looking to gain ten pounds of muscle, just ten pounds in general. I thought ten pounds seemed realistic only because it would still be below what my normal weight is, but it doesn't necessarily need to be ten pounds. I've changed my diet quite a bit and am eating more calories than I feel like I can stomach at times, but I haven't noticed any change in my weight. It's VERY easy for me to lose weight but very difficult to put it on.

I know pretty well how to do it, but was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for things that might help me gain it a little quicker/easier? hey hey, I have a couple suggestions for ya for gaining healthy weight. as others have mentioned, higher amounts of protein would be a great start...an increase of healthy carbs will also do it. might as well start a new workout regimine of lower rep/high weight to put on some muscle mass if you so choose, otherwise the fats you intake will just kinda round you out (NTTAWWT) bananas are a great source of healthy carbs...peas, acorn squash, corn, broccoli. granola cereal is a great snack as well, and will aid in weight gain. also adding nuts is a great option as well: walnuts, almonds, macadamia...just try to go for the raw version, not roasted/salted. I highly recommend incorporating organic hemp seeds and organic coconut oil into your diet. both are crammed with healthy fats, the hemp seeds are unique and have lots of omega oils that you often find in fish. ill usually sprinkle some on my oatmeal, put it in any shake or smoothie I might make, on salads, in pancake batter. they add a mild nutty flavor, definitely not overpowering at all. coconut oil is just downright delicious...I literally put it on or in everything. eat an extra 2-3 tablespoons daily and youll gain healthy weight. do some research online about it...it's really healthy for you. also start eating more rich fish (salmon etc), high protein meats (buffalo is great) and I think youll be well on your way 10 pounds is quite a bit for a month, 2 months would definitely be more realistic...but anything is possible I guess I would not recommend binge eating bad foods though (ie. pizza, hamburger and beer marathon, etc) and I'd stay away from any supplements from the muscle store for mass gain...there is always a healthy and safe way to do something good luck my friend

SmileFace
The first question is Why are you losing weight? Do you know what is causing it? Is it just your diet? When did it start?
Author iouaname
The first question is Why are you losing weight? Do you know what is causing it? Is it just your diet? When did it start? I went through a serious depression this past winter/spring, so that is what caused it. Normally it would not be a big deal, but I was underweight before I lost all of the weight this year. It's also generally very hard for me to gain weight but very easy for me to lose it.

Author iouaname
Just an update: I have gained about 8 pounds I think that my body was so undernourished that it was easy to put on a lot of weight at first because my body needed the weight - now I think it'll be a little bit harder to put on more but I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing. If I could put on just a few more pounds, I'll be happy. The 8 has been good though, my bikini is fitting nicely and I don't feel so skeletal.
