wish-i-knew

Hi all,

I lost over 20 kg [44lbs] over 9 months by watching what I ate and going for a 1 hour walk every day.

I used music with a good beat to set a walking pace. I would like to share my top ten favourite walking tracks.

1. Bad Influence – Pink

2. Fader – The Temper Trap

3. Material Girl – Madonna

4. Mr Brightside – The Killers

5. Compliments on Your Kiss – Red Dragon

6. Underneath the Radar – Underworld

7. Leiani – Hoodoo Gurus

8. All The Small Things – Blink 182

9. Mr Jones – Counting Crows

10. All of the Dreamers - Powederfinger

Do you have any favourite walking songs that you would like to share?

Thanks...

and two modern ones.......

moves like jagger maroon five...

and beneath your beautiful.....labrinth

I have my MP3 player loaded--loaded, and keep it on shuffle. It's like having a radio station that caters just to me. That's so cool to have this tiny gizmo that holds so much. I lost 120 lbs walking back in the 80's but I didn't wear headphones because it was the streets of Brooklyn at night mostly or by the walk under the Verrazzano. You want to keep your ears pealed bopping around alone. I only wear headphones in a gym.

Yep, I typically walk in pretty nice areas, but whenever I have the headphones in, I have them low enough that it's easy to forget there's music playing. Part of that comes from being a musician who wants to have his ears for another 60 or 70 years, but part is just that I like being very aware.

As for my music, I usually have pop or radio-playable rock, since those songs are typically all about the same pace (120bpm) so there's no big slow down or speed up. I keep a little section of 4 or 5 songs that are slightly faster pace, since I like to walk faster than most. That group gives me a little pick-me-up.

hi Feelin Frisky

as ooglesnboogles, I too walk in nice areas, but still like to keep the music low enough so I can hear other sounds around me - even the birds chirping away!!

I just find that the beat helps me set a good brisk pace, especially when I am going uphill.

Of course singing along might make me appear a little odd, but oh well, such is life...
