My Hands Smell Like Garlic

Recommended Posts

Forever Learning

I just noticed this in the past few weeks, that my hands smell faintly of garlic.

But I haven't been eating garlic.

Is there any other supplement or condition that could be causing this?

It's a faint smell, others wouldn't smell it.

It's near my knuckles. And no I haven't been touching myself, and my poontang doesn't smell like garlic.

I do take tumeric capsules. Could that be it? My armpits don't have this smell.

Now I am wondering if it has something to do with petting my cat (my actual cat). Or, the potato chips I was eating. I will have to watch what I'm handling. I was cutting onions on several occasions recently, maybe that was it. Or I have been using Burt's Bees hand cream, and that has an unusual smell to it. I think that might even be it, that hand cream, now that I think of it. Mystery solved!

vitamins ? rub your hands on stainless steel, it makes the scent go away

I take so many various vitamins, that could be it. Good thinking Art.

I shall try the stainless steel trick! :)

When I cook I often wear those thin gloves food workers wear or hairdressers use when dyeing hair. I sometimes have an allergic reaction to some foods plus I cook with a lot of onions and garlic. Prevents food from getting under my fingernails. You can buy a big box of those gloves at RiteAid or CVS.

Gloves won't protect you from the garlic smell since ingested garlic sweats out, even a day or two afterwards.

Well, I am sniffing my knuckles right now, and I'm not smelling it. I did remember I've been drinking a large variety of teas, that often have a mix of herbal ingredients. So I won't rule that out either.

Also, my boss has hand creams on her desk, and one of them has a musky woodsy smell that I might have mistaken for this garlic smell.

Thanks for the input guys. You are all so awesome :D
