Thinkalot
I just wanted to let those of you who have helped me with my OCD etc, that I am stopping my anit-depressant medication. I expect that some of you will disagree with this decision, considering I still suffer some obsessive thoughts. But I am very unhappy with the effect they have had on my sex life. That alone is affecting the way I feel about myself, and my sexuality. My fiance has been completely supportive the whole time on this issue, however he obviously agrees it has had a pretty drastic effect on our sex life, when you compare it to where we used to be! I also don't want to always have to be taking these drugs. Anyway...I am trying natural alternatives and treatments at the moment, and am hopeful this will help me. I am keeping check on my progress, as is my fiance, in case of any radical setbacks. I am thinking positive though, and believe that won't happen. Thanks friends, for listening. moimeme
Thinkalot You know very well that stopping anti-depressants on your own can be very dangerous. Bad girl! Do NOT do this without your doc or you could end up in serious, serious trouble.
cateinaus
Consult your doctor on this one.
Author Thinkalot
I know, I am staying on a reduced low weekly dose (less than what I have been taking) until i visit the doc in a couple of weeks. I have done a few searches to find out what the effects are if you do just stop outright. Most just say, consult your doc.
moimeme
Some folks can have some pretty severe symptoms which is why you're not supposed to do it solo. It would sure be a shame to undo all the hard work you've been doing.
Author Thinkalot
Yes, I agree. I certainly have some trepidation, but will discuss with my doc when I see her, my desire to ween off the drugs and give it a go. At this point, I don't have any huge events in coming months, etc... my wedding organisation is done, as its pretty simple for Fiji...so now seems like the time to try, if I want to try before we marry... Merry, I realise you probably think this is an unwise decision I have made. I am however, sufficiently bothered by the symptoms listed above to make this decision. It also seems important for me to know I can live without the drugs. I realise that many people need to be on them for an extended time frame etc.... I just want to give this a go. johan
It also seems important for me to know I can live without the drugs. I support your decision for this reason. I think that is important. I hope you succeed.

cateinaus
You'll do alright and you don't want to end up relying on them but do it with help.
