SierraMist Posted October 10, 2004 Share Posted October 10, 2004 Hey guys, i am a 19 year old boy who lives in california and ever since i was a young boy, i lack self confidence. I dont know why, its always been my problem...i get intimidated really easily. One example of this was when me and my ex were dating, she would look at a guy that i think is hotter than me (Note: Im not hot, people say im cute) then i would automatically ask myself "She would probably be rather with him because he is a football player or something and im a piece of poop, that doesnt do anything". How do u build up self-confidence?? is there some process of gaining self confidence? By the way im in a band and i hope to get somewhere with my band, and the only time i feel confident about myself is when we are practicing a song we made up. You've got to realize to begin with that when someone is dating you, that obviously she likes YOU or she wouldn't be dating you. Secondly, not everyone likes the same things... again if she liked the football player type, then I guess that is whom she would be dating, not you. Third, you've got to love yourself BEFORE you can love anyone else, or allow them to love you. Think of all the qualities you have that you think are good... and don't limit those to physical appearence... there is a lot to be said for being clever, funny, loyal, honest...
