Back on the horse!

Recommended Posts

Some of you might recall... I fell away from attending church during the school year (I'm a 1st year teacher and simply was overwhelmed with the craziness that comes with year one).

Well summer is here and I've reconnected with some old 2009 church friends... like poeple whom I consider actual friends and not "church acquaintances." We've been exploring this church together the last 2 weeks, doing the whole lunch fellowship thing afterward and it's just been really, really nice. I like this new church I'm visiting, strong down-to-earth messages, and a congregation that offers opportunities to serve and get involved, but doesn't beat you over the head or make you feel obligated to partake in.

So yeah, it's just been nice to get back on the horse.

And it's amazing how going with friends helps to keep you interested/movtivated/accountable. Going alone is too easy to slip into "Oh I'll just sleep in today..." or "There's always next week..." mode. When you got good friends who you know are there and texting you "see you soon!" you get up and go. It's a good kind of peer pressure :)

Good to hear, Teknoe. Hope each day brings you peace, despite whatever obstacles may come. People may fail us, but God never does.

Congratulations! Glad you found a church home that's a good fit for you.:) I would use the summer to think about how you might fit church and school together. Either way, glad to see you're back on the horse and finding the experience rewarding.
