From what I've seen of attorneys (especially family attorneys), they typically don't operate on truth and facts but rather whatever gets them the victory in court. Bend the facts, bend the facts. The pastor at my church told me that he actually passed up the attorney career because he KNEW he world be forced to compromise his integrity or he wouldn't be able to compete. I respect this pastor a lot. He's written a number of legal and religious books. Here is his bio: For several decades Dean L. angel.eyes Posted August 9, 2013 Share Posted August 9, 2013 What a great thread! I have to start a reading list based on some of the wonderful ideas here. Right now, I'm on a Timothy Keller binge. I'm reading Generous Justice. I also have the The Meaning of Marriage sitting on my night stand. It will be the next book I read. Despite the title and focus, it's meant for those who are married and those who are single. It came out of a series of sermons Keller gave at his church, which is mostly single people. I was on Amazon recently, and it "suggested" Counterfeit Gods: The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power, and the Only Hope that Matters. I might buy that too depending on how I feel once I've gotten through these two...and a stack of other novels on my night stand. Link to post Share on other sites
